True. Though technically Hill couldve vacated 3b and went back to 2b. But no need to throw it seeing that there was gonna be 2 at 3b.

Was more about who isn't available, gotta imagine Kimbrel, Cano and Webb all not going to pitch a third straight. Though by this point Irvin had thrown so many pitches that leaving him out there would only buy maybe one more inning, so go ahead and try to get lucky with Krook or Vespi and then can use Akin and Tate if it gets closer.

They gotta get 2 guys. The second one isnt gonna be anything special but a reliable vet. Povich and Suarez arent in Irvins category yet but neither are trustworthy

I'm ok with Kremer so I don't think 2 SP are necessary. But if you can find someone better for a reasonable price, then sure, sign me up for the second guy. I'd focus more on getting the best first guy we can than spreading capital across two SP additions.

I feel strangely comfortable with Povich for someone who hasn't had much experience and wasn't a stud prospect. Maybe that's misplaced trust.

Irvin absolutely has to go. Fine with Kremer and Povich to go with Burnes and Grayson. Would rather Saurez to the pen than continue to start, but he can go a couple more times through until they find a real starter.

If the plan going forward is to only play Adley 81-90 games at C then they may be looking at the FA C market .And maybe the top end of the market. Cant bring back a guy like McCann to play 70 games. I dont expect Bassalo to be ready next year and there are still questions about his long term outlook at C

The reason you take multiple SP is to reshuffle the staff so that you might not need as many new (outside) BP additions.

You named the guys that would be upgrades in the BP as-of-now: Suarez and Povich. 

 

Kremer is fine as a 4th SP. If he's not up for it, the O's are in deeper doo-doo. Irvin is fine as an innings eater / spot-start / mop-up guy. 

 

He just can't be counted on every 5 days.
