Jesus, Heaney struck out 10?

Least surprising loss of the year last night.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I can't imagine that many of them surprise you! :)

Irvin has had quite the collapse from a very good start to the season. Send him to the BP when Kremer comes back but Elias should have been talking to the Rangers about leaving one of their starters in Baltimore.

It's worth noting that he's pitched against 3 of the beat teams in baseball his last 3 starts as well.

I'll give you NY and Cleveland have solid offenses, not buying Texas as a formidable opponent minus Seager and with Semien and Garcia both struggling.

Irvin gave up 25 hits across 17.2 IP facing TB twice and Atlanta, but only gave up 7 ER.

He's been horrible in June after a good April and very good May.

Fair. I still think that he has a chance to bounce back. Pitchers go through rough stretches all the time.

Irvin is really bad. Very lucky start to the year.

Could Irvin go back to what we saw this spring? Sure

But to me its a lot more likely that he pitches more like he has historically than this spring and probably thats on the bright side outlook.

Irvin, like Povich, has to have pinpoint control.  If command is off, it's not going to be pretty.  He's been leaving way too many pitches in the happy zone, and he knows exactly what he has to do to get back on track.

Povich has better stuff and a bigger pitch mix. But yeah ultimately comes down to control.

I don't think it was luck. He had 4/5 starts where he didn't allow a run and allowed 4 or less hits in all 5 starts. Walked 5 over that stretch.

He was very good for that stretch but I'm not surprised he's fallen off since then. It was unsustainable but I thought he could be a solid back end guy. Still could get back there. And with the injuries we have in the rotation we need him to be at least that.
