Not sure a couple private equity ghouls will be better than the Angelos era, but we shall see.

Willing to take the risk...

Seems as though the rumor is being picked up by just about every major sports media outlet now.

Yeah, but many still seem to just be crediting the Puck dude. I just want one more credible source to confirm. So, so desperately...

And if it's true, we must keep in mind this is John Angelos working a deal... so the chances of him lying and/or ruining it are always real.

Timing wise.... before Peter dies is a bit of a surprise, no?

Ourand is credible. Baseball writers have contacts like players, agents and front office people....not the sort who are going to be dialed in to this news. Ourand writes about the business side of sports. That, plus he's a Marylander and lifelong O's fan (so has the right names in his Rolodex) makes me confident his reporting is legit.

Playing a pure guessing game... I'd say he's probably in any day or week now state. Article also said they would take 40% now and the rest after death. Not sure how that impacts tax burdens...

Here's Rubenstein's Wiki page if you want the 411 on him.

That dookie thing is kind of a black mark....but Lefty Driesell was too, so I guess it's okay.

I’m not a tax attorney but I’m guessing the 40% thing is just window dressing over lowering tax implications. If they take over controlling interest after he passes I’m sure they save a ton.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Ourand says only 40% would happen now, the remainder after Peter passes.

I guess John and fam need real money right now.  I hope MASN stays with the new owners!

This made the Ravens loss forgotten, all is well!

We're stepping into a void. But given the outlook under Angelos, I'll take it.

Sorry, but it has little-to-nothing to do with this.

I'll believe it when the Orioles make an announcement. Remember the first time we were told the lease agreement was a done deal?
