Winston can actually throw the ball further than 20 yards

Crazy game but the Saints hold on to win at Detroit. Not bad for missing 6 starters to injury. The O was clicking today but still way too many penalties on D, especially the PIs. Hard to win giving the other team long PIs for freebie first and goals.

We knew the NFC East was bad but lol. 2 wins combined over the first 4 weeks. 1 was because Dallas had a miracle comeback vs Atlanta the other was because Washington and Philadelphia played each other.

Detroit seems to be good enough to just lose every year.

Dallas has half a team.  Good offense, atrocious defense.

Saints back on top of the Division. But these slow starts are going to come back and bite us. So need to get healthy especially to get MT back on the field.

Drew does a lot of short passing these days.  He is making it work, but IMO they do not want a cold weather play off game on the road.

They never want that and they sure as heck don't this year. I just really am having a hard time with their play calling. Most every run is up the middle. They have had trouble getting enough time for longer routes to develop and maintain the pocket. Yet the last drive of the first half last night used a bunch of quick slants and they tore the Chargers up. Thought maybe they had something figured out. Then the second half they only threw one of those on the last drive. So weird.

Saints are talking to LSU about potentially using Death Valley for some games since the Mayor of NOLA won't allow any fans at the Superdome.

The Saints looked the best they have all year and did a number of Brady and the Bucs. First time in Brady's career that he has been swet by a division opponent in a given season!

Defense looked especially good last night. Stoked.

Also the first time in his career his division has actually had a LEGIT opponent with a decent QB...  :)

To quote the late great Sean Connery, Brady and Tampa, brought a knife to a gunfight..

The Saints looked great.  Always nice to see Brady on the sideline pouting.

Its a reminder that there are ebbs and flows to a football season. You just want to be healthy and peaking in Jan.

It would positively suck if this was how his historic career ended.

The only good news with the Brees injury is that the Saints schedule for the next month has some very winnable games even with Winston taking the snaps. Hopefully we get him back before too many weeks but it doesn't sound good.

I wonder if this will be a situation where he "starts" by playing the first series or two, and then gives way to Jameis. Trickery could be afoot.

No trickery afoot. Hill is going to be the guy until Drew comes back. He actually had some good throws yesterday and one absolutely terrible one bailed out by Sanders. But while he certainly isn't the QB you want starting for years there is one undeniable fact about the local kid. Hes a baller.

Now you say local so some tidbits here:

Taysom is from Pocatello ID just 45 minutes down the road.

He played football at a Pocatello HS that was big foe for the Idaho Falls HSs. Even for the soccer side of things.

He played at BYU which most of us BSU fans HATE.

The farm that I do a lot of hunting on is across the street from his Grandmothers home (although she passed away a year ago). My hunting buddy's wife and her were very good friends.

But at the end of the day if the Saints D keeps playing like they this they will be a tough out come the playoffs!!!
