Mounty back. Eloy to Norfolk, who are done. He had to accept the assignment, and they could have just DFAd him so I suppose he still has a chance to make the postseason roster.

Yeah, they were never gonna straight release him. At least not yet. If they go with a 15 man roster in the WC round I think he will be back. Or if Rivera struggles with the bat. A move that was ok for awhile til it wasnt. The guys slug is non existent now.

Bigger story is its good to have Mounty back. He wasnt exactly lighting it up before he went down but hes better than Jimenez

Any move they make re: RHB I just don’t care.

Move the stupid wall back in

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

For sure but Mounty is way better than Jimenez. Better hitter, better fielder, and 10 times fasterm

Gotta hope just having more of the April / May / June lineup back together will collectively trigger some consistent offense. Wouldn't bet big on it, but I do think the injuries coupled with what I thought were several unnecessary deadline moves / additions hurt chemistry a little bit. Westburg, Mountcastle, Kjerstad all back in the lineup is more in line with what got the ball rolling to begin with...

First of all, great to have a playoff spot locked up. Feels good.

Secondly, this may be a lot of nothing, but I have a lot of connections in the National Symphony Orchestra due to my career and education. They are currently on strike as of a couple of days ago due to not being compensated in a way that is commensurate with their peers. Ugly situation all around.

The chair of the Kennedy center is David Rubenstein.

None of that should suggest he's not going to increase spending on the team or support a winning organization, but it tracks with the price hikes in tickets and consessions, and doesn't exactly paint him in a positive light.

Peter Angelos was by all accounts a worker's champion, and we know how that turned out as far as spending. I don't really think we can say much about things based on the Kennedy Center.

Agree and add Urias to the list.

Not gonna lie, seeing Westburg, Mountcastle, even Urias back instead of relying on guys like Rivera, Jimenez, Holliday, Soto, Slater has me feeling much more optimistic.

I was never a big believer in finding some switch to flip but I always held out hope that the returning players could make a difference in turning things around. Even though we lost those 2 games to Detroit it felt like the offense was starting to make some strides. Hopefully that continues.

I mean Mayo and Holliday in particular were just black holes offensively. Jimenez became one in Sept too. Its just hard to overcome. The rookies being so bad is the biggest disappointment in all the 2nd half

O's just announced that Grayson isn't pitching in the postseason. That's a bummer.

Big bummer. Sounds like he was on pace but couldn't get through the bullpens.

Stinks. If he had been able to come back and be close to his normal self I kind of liked their chances to make a longer run. Burnes Rodriguez and Eflin would have been a potentially formidable trio.

I am way more concerned about next season. Something seems off here.

I think if there was concern about next year there would be a surgery scheduled. He just couldn't get back in time.

I want to agree with you but... Wells, Means, and Bradish were all oddly (dare say poorly) handled. I simply have no faith in their pitcher management

Yeah they are scraping by on an average salary of 186k year and 8 weeks of paid leave.   "Hard times"

Looks like the Orioles hired Steve Saunders in the off-season after the Ravens finally let him go. Would explain the pitching injuries...
