Sure. But that doesn't explain Adley and both Ryans going to crap.
Adley concerns me the most. Not sure how he went from a solid approach, big doubles and walks to now hitting like Jay Gibbons (pop out king).

When you say you think something isnt right what do you mean. Some kind of clubhouse drama?
I don't want to really speculate because it's not really fair to point fingers without knowing anything - and Elias runs a tight ship, we'll likely never know. But yes, something like that. Some sort of mis-alignment, disagreement, maybe some ego's popping off due to rising stardom for some, I don't know. I have no idea. I just know this isn't normal. You don't go 250+ games of playing exceptionally great baseball to a bad baseball team for a prolonged stretch just because of a slump.

I think O'Hearn is pretty easy to understand. He's a platoon lefty who now has to face lefthanded pitching due to Mountcastle being out. My concern is if he has to keep going out there every day, his swing is going to be so messed up he won't be able to hit righties, either.

NYY is about to go to Oakland and polish off the A's in their last series ever in the Coliseum while we battle with Detroit, maybe the hottest team in baseball.
Of greater note -- we need to watch what KC and Minnesota are doing
KC gets the Giants, Nats and Braves (who may have nothing to play for)
Twins get Boston (have quit), Marlins and, of course, us.
We may need to win 2 of those last 3 in Minnesota to make it...
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

You're phrasing this as if it's something that might happen in the future, but since the ASB, O'Hearn is slugging .336 and has a 654 OPS.

O'Hearn was a turd with a ton of polish -- the polish has worn off. Not much further explanation needed.
Honestly, guys like Mullins, O'Hearn, hell even Santander are just place fillers, if they suck, oh well. We just won't win much while they're here, and we haven't. Fortunately, a lot of them will likely be gone after the next few weeks of misery.
The guys we need to show signs of life are the young dudes and that worthless sack of potatoes behind the plate.
Gunnar is the only batter that has done anything of merit recently.

I see where Irvin was picked up by the Twins. How ironic would it be if the Orioles faced Minnesota in the play-offs and Irvin shut them down?

The O's have DFA'd Kimbrell.
There should be no hard feelings from the pitcher because we gave the guy every conceivable opportunity to right the ship.

This scenario is not possible I'm afraid
Irvin is not eligible to be in the Twins playoff roster.
But the O's finish the regular season against the Twins, so he could keep them out of the playoffs altogether.

Thanks to Craig for his AS caliber first half

At least we can exhale that they wouldn’t try to squeeze him on the postseason roster out of hubris, which until now wouldn’t have surprised me. I have nothing good to say about the guy. So I’ll leave it at that.
Sure you can. He was good in the 1st half. Its a fact.

The baseball season is 6-7 months, not 3. Screw that guy. Good riddance. He f’ed us. And got paid a lot of money to do it.
