Good news, Urias and Westburg are headed to Norfolk to start a rehab assignment tomorrow. That seems to point them being ready for the series in The Bronx. Let's hope that series still matters.

Get the reps needed for the playoffs. If that is the Yanks series awesome but if its not til the postseason thats ok too. And I get that Norfolks season ends this weekend but if they need to go down to Florida and get reps there for a week go do it.

It might be better if the series in the Bronx doesn't matter - maybe the Yankees won't be trying as hard (although I guess to make it matter, the O's would have to win 4 or 5 of the remaining home games, which would go a long way to at least wrapping up the #1 wild card).

Has zero to do with Elias. People gave Kimbrel too much irratonal hate for so long when he was actually productive. He got a bad rap here. In the meantime other players were worse and not a peep.
Others players not a peep? Gimme a break. Plenty of dumping on other guys.

Yeah I think we’re pretty equal opportunity as far as crapping on people. Sure, it’s especially strong with bullpen guys that don’t do their job.

Well, right now the O's and Yanks are two teams heading in opposite directions. Unless something changes dramatically, the O's are going to go into the Bronx fighting for survival and the last playoff spot.
We'll see what tonight brings.

Julio Rodriguez' baserunning has granted the Yankees each of their last two wins. Insane how bad these past couple weeks have gone for the Orioles. Wasn't like it was going great beforehand, especially for the things they can control (things out of their control have been pretty favorable for a long time now), but they are falling apart at the same time the Yankees start catching lots of good breaks.
And for all the recent Rutschman hate, take a look at Julio Rodriguez' season this year. Wonder how many Mariners fans are calling to trade him. O's should kick the tires!

Why kick the tires on an undisciplined player?
The Orioles are having enough trouble playing sound, fundamental baseball. Let him keep running the Mariners out of innings, games, etc.

Would take him in a heartbeat but obv Sea isnt trading him. Just a shot, and a fair one, at those who want to get rid of our players who are struggling right now.Why kick the tires on an undisciplined player?

Playoffs start today. Thats the way you have to look at it. Enough playing scared. Overthinking. Following the panic monkey Hyde's lead. Go out there and focus your ass off and put together good ABs. Play clean baseball. Lock the F in instead of worrying about what can go wrong. The push starts now. Get some positive momentum going, the #4 seed and dont look back.
This is the only approach that the team should have. We'll see how this goes.

You know how it is when you dwell on the negative. When you put too much pressure on yourself. Lock in, focus up and play hard. Still wont win every game. May not win the WS. But give yourself a chance. Make the opponent outplay you. This is the only approach that the team should have. We'll see how this goes.

I'd heard that Cano was out with "general soreness" but according to this article, it's forearm tightness.
But the decision to designate Kimbrel for assignment — which comes a day after fellow late-inning option Yennier Cano was unavailable with forearm tightness that the Orioles seem to think is not a bigger issue — illuminates the uncomfortable reality of the Orioles’ roster: They needed pitching help at the trade deadline that would transform their bullpen and the top of their rotation. They needed to emerge from the deadline with a lockdown closer who would make a Kimbrel resurgence a luxury, not a necessity, and take pressure off Cano and an otherwise beat-up group of veterans and unproven young pitchers. They did not get it.

And after we win today I dont want to hear Hyde or any player talk about its a weight off our shoulders or breathing a sigh of relief. Anything like that. Killer attitude. No, this was expected. Winning is the norm again. We are going to come out and do it again tomorrow

Cano is a bit of a concern. Hasnt thrown since last Wed but I did read a blurb that said he was available last night. Will be interesting to see what he has when he does throw. He has been very good the 2nd half.I'd heard that Cano was out with "general soreness" but according to this article, it's forearm tightness.

I will also note that we talked in May about the excessive work Hyde was giving Webb, Danny C, and Cano. All ended up with arm issues this year. Maybe coincidence. Maybe not.

I think that ship has sailed. The division is no longer realistically in reach. The Orioles play SF one last time and then 3 at home with Detroit. The Yankees have one last game with Seattle and then 3 with Oakland. The O's are 5 games out to the Yankees with 10 left to play. Being 5 games down with 10 to play and the Orioles playing 3 teams with something to play for and the Yankees playing Oakland and Pittsburgh in addition to the Orioles would seem to make this a near impossible task. The Orioles have to hope they can hold on to the top WC spot and a 3 game home series.

I love your spirit. You're a great fan. I just hope you're not letting this effect you. I'll be cheering and sending the good ass vibes, but I have a really bad feeling about all this and am equally prepared to be disappointed. I already am pretty damn disappointed, if I'm being honest.
