Yet you make all these trade prosposals that take on all this money and have the payroll in god knows what range. Live in the reality of the situation. ........................... Completely laughable but its irrelevant. No more dude trades that are unrealistic. It cluters massively.

The reason you dislike trade proposals is because they prove your position wrong.  You want to hold onto "whatever they did is the only and best thing they could have done".  I put the McCann trade thoughts out in October.  A version (the don't spend any additional money version) of that actually happened in December.  There was clearly capacity to do what I described in the trade (I probably gave up too much from an Oriole perspective).

You don't like the Castillo/Soto option because it highlights there are really good things they could do - at a time the act like they are going to do really good things - and their utter lack of involvement proves they are phony and you don't want to acknowledge that.

For people that often say how they TLDR some of those trade thoughts, it's awesome that you can have a position on the content lacking the facts of the content.  I generally put a payroll number on each 'plan'.  I only describe the things I think are contextually available for a team market/resources like the Orioles.  Well run Orioles can afford 140-190M easily.  The things I describe are available to the orioles and never remotely approaches those numbers.

I could care less if you think we are a "mid-large market". Thats laughable. Completely laughable but its irrelevant.

I am stating a fact...so you thinks facts are "laughable".

They aren't the Dodgers, Yankees or Mets.  So when you see references to those teams, that's smoke to hide truth (and they always do this).  It's not Yankees or Rays....they are Cardinals, Nationals, Phillies, Braves, BlueJays.

They can give you $17.  That's what they have to give you.  They are giving you $6 and that's ok, but it's not an excuse for how much money they have to give you.

I'm not arguing for what they need to spend.  I'd prefer Woodruff to Gibson and they cost about the same ($$) in 2023. I'm saying stop making excuses on why you can't compete, because the only thing stopping you from competing (in any year) is you.

Keep beating your head against the wall howling at the moon but dont beat the board down with the same repetitive posts. You have to understand how often you say the same thing and usually they are quite long posts. The Os under this ownership will not act like anything more than a small market team. So find a way to accept it and think within those limits or find something better to do with your energy until there is new ownership.

For the record the biggest problem with the Soto trade had nothing to do with him hypothetically being in an Os uniform. Complete mischaracterization of my POV. It would be amazing in theory. Best offensive player in baseball IMO. It was the unrealistic scenario you had that put him in an Os uniform and then criticizing the FO for not making that unrealistic move. A year from now you will have people who dont understand what you are doing saying we could have had Soto and all we would have had to do was take on Corbin and give up x,y, and z.

The Os coaching staff and players on the field dont give a flying F about Angelos and how much he does or doesnt spend in FA for shiny toys. Its absolutely disrespectful to the players in place saying they are limited or incapable of reaching certain goals. Especially once the season gets going.

I am not sure I agree with this. Players want to win. They are not stupid. They understand, better than we do, where there are weaknesses in the team. That's not saying that they just throw in the towel. Far from it. But that doesn't mean they don't wish that ownership was more aggressive in getting them more tools.

Seriously? So it would be an insult to the players in place if they had gone out and spent on one of the better SPs and middle infielders on the market, because the existing placeholders aren't capable of their production? Alright. So what does it say to the same guys that they instead went out and spent on the likes of Kyle Gibson and Adam Frazier, with pretty much the exact same intent as far as playing time?

Their job is to play baseball. The context was worrying about how much Angelos is pocketing money. We as fans can get worked up about that. The players dont. The coaches dont. Adam talked about talking to Mr Angelos and or DD about FAs. Im not saying they dont prefer an ownership committed to winning and spending but its not their job to worry about that or talk about that. Their job once spring hits is to play ball and win with whoever is by their side.

Agreed. There would have probably been a party thrown in the locker room if Verlander walked in

Why do you hate watching regular season games? Cause it's obviously one or the other.

I wanna hear how many games we'd have to give up to afford a pitch clock graphic.

And for those who have MLBTV (and a VPN if you need it) you'll be out of luck too....the Twins network isn't showing it either. At least they have a decent excuse, since it's a split-squad game for them.

Getting closer to endorsing a “big government” approach to MLB tv broadcasts. MLB runs everything.

Will never happen in a billion years but I think it would be better

The Twins just don't want to show top 55 prospect Cade Povich in case he pitches, makes them look bad.

Yep, big news today. Three, and possibly four teams won't have an RSN to show their games this season. And that's completely separate from the Bally's debacle.

Short term, it's gonna be painful, especially for some of these smaller market clubs. Pittsburgh was getting like $60M/yr for their local rights, and theirs is one of the RSNs that WBD wants to liquidate. No way they get close to that anywhere else.

Long term it could have a silver lining. I have a hunch the days of local blackouts on MLBTV could be numbered, and soon.

And yeah, I'm sure MASN is affected by all this too. No way they'd be immune from it. But don't worry, John is working on those concerts.
