Just wish I could guarantee league averageish hitting.

A case study on what happens when you throw strikes. Until Bregman worked Bradish to a 3-2 count in the seventh, the previous eight Houston batters had seen nothing but strikes.

Through seven, Bradish has thrown 93 pitches, 70 for strikes. That's incredible.

Mateo should win the gold glove.

GameDay says that's Verlander's ratio. Bradish is 54/78.

You're right. I got it backwards. But I'll leave it up here just to show that I'm not so smart. :)

When's the last time any team had back-to-back complete games? It used to be commonplace; now, it almost warrants throwing a parade.

I want Mateo next year at SS, I don’t care. Buy a SP instead.

Yup. Its gonna happen. Hes cheap and a great defender. Just think of him as JJ Hardy with less power but more speed. Well maybe the same kind of later years Hardy.

Unbelievable game by Bradish. Pencil him in the starting rotation next year. He's been unhittable since coming off of the IL.

Great. But not instead. They can easily afford two elite players. Both could be starting pitchers or one starter and one position player. If the latter, then that position player could be SS, but 1B, corner OF, and 2B are also options.

If Bradish can knock a few mph off of that changeup, that's going to be a really effective pitch as well. He got Trey with it in the 8th, but there are times when it looks like nothing more than a lousy fastball.

Thats the thing. He and Kremer deserve to be penciled in. You can essentially pencil in GRod as well.  So two guys you are looking for through FA/trade. THat still leaves you with guys like Voth, Hall, Wells,  eventually Means that are in the pen and can be stretched out or AAA

One pitcher and one position player. Spend the money.

It's the easy choice and the cheapest choice, so I agree it'll be what happens. I don't think it's the best choice, but it is a good enough choice so as long as they do plenty of other things I'm good with it.

Improved change and you can pencil him in as a #2/3 SP

I also think Mateo could find a bit more offense in the bat. Hes not gonna walk but if he can find a way to make more contact the avg and slug can go up and make him a league avg hitter
