Thats the thing. He and Kremer deserve to be penciled in. You can essentially pencil in GRod as well. So two guys you are looking for through FA/trade. THat still leaves you with guys like Voth, Hall, Wells, eventually Means that are in the pen and can be stretched out or AAA

Bradish and Kremer have surpassed Grayson and Hall at this point and that's a great problem to have. Add a TOR starter and hope Means comes back strong and we're set for next year.

I also think Mateo could find a bit more offense in the bat. Hes not gonna walk but if he can find a way to make more contact the avg and slug can go up and make him a league avg hitter

His hot streak in July/August pushed his season numbers up well above the barely passable line. An 80 OPS+ is ok with the defense he provides. If there is upside to push more than that, then great. If the hot streak is a mirage and he's a low 60s guy next year, then he loses the job and Gunnar slides in. It's nice to have Plan B already on hand.

Surpassed Hall but not Rodriguez, IMO. If I can only pick on them to keep, it's Grayson. Fortunately, we get to keep all of them.

Im not even sure it would be GUnnar. Ortiz is the guy. But yes, we have in house insurance

THink he goes if a batter gets on. But he absolutely deserves the chance and Im glad Hyde is giving it to him. Its important for a yong player

Great. But not instead. They can easily afford two elite players. Both could be starting pitchers or one starter and one position player. If the latter, then that position player could be SS, but 1B, corner OF, and 2B are also options.

Having Rutschman behind the plate is going to be a benefit to the rotation as well. Pitchers know they can throw their nastiest slider or curve because they know he'll get down and block it should it bounce. You'd never have seen that with the likes of Luis Severino behind the plate.
