I'm 100% for Stowers in RF next year, Westburg at 2nd... also with running back with Mountcastle and Hays.
If Cowser replaces Hays at some point, I'm good there too.

I get it if he was fooled by some major league breaking balls. Or if he saw a change up or two then was behind on fastball in that AB. But he swung and missed at two meatballs and fouled off a fastball on the inner half. They weren’t 100mph heaters either. If you can’t hit one of two plain old regular fastballs, you shouldn’t be here. When armchair quarterbacks say “I could do that” even though they really can’t, in this instance you really could.
I wll say that Stowers missing fat pitches was something I noticed before. Now, when he connects some good things are happening and I think his swing decisions have been ok. THere is just too much flat out swing and miss.

Agreed, unless we can acquire a big bat, either in the OF or infield

Absolutely not. You cant run back this lineup while only replacing Urias and Odor with Westburg and Stowers while keeping Mountcastle and Hays in reg roles. Too many rookies. Too many RH bats.

Any of these decisions alone is fine but you can't make the entirety of them. Perhaps that's not what you mean. No external upgrades to the offense at all for this year to next is not a good plan.I'm 100% for Stowers in RF next year, Westburg at 2nd... also with running back with Mountcastle and Hays.

Adley screws up the shift by going the other way.

I hate that. We got cute and took the bat out of Santander’s hands.

SS. 1 front end starter. That's all I want.

I agree.
The force balk type of double steal has very little chance of working at the MLB level. Seemed like a desperate managerial move to me.

Ok, I'm in. I like Mateo better than Hays, but agree SS is the easiest huge upgrade to actually acquire.

Even with a top end SS it is too many RH bats and too many rookies..
If its top end SS then at minimum to go along with it you platoon Hays and Stowers and find a LF/RF or DH if you really want to push your luck and play Santander in the OF.

His K% in the minors say that K's shouldn't be a surprise. That's fine in this era I guess anyway. But I never saw him in the minors to know if he was missing so many hittable pitches. That is a problem. Getting fooled by garbage is one thing. Not being able to barrel up straight fastball...yikes.

DIdnt see it. I also am on Gameday but it seems Ricker might be right about pressing and felling the pressure. Cant give away outs and especially not while trying to be cute

SS, Mountcastle, Hays, Westburg would be the only RHB in this scenario, no? 3 lefties 2 switch.Even with a top end SS it is too many RH bats and too many rookies..

Can someone explain that to the GameDay crowd. Was that a little league double steal attempt?
Double steal attempt. Bichette charged in to catch the ball well in front of 2nd base. Adley not even in the frame. Mullins tried to retreat to 3rd cause he would have been out by a mile at home. Quick rundown, tagged out Mullins.

That was not on the players. Adley was sent to draw the throw, and Ced took off. That was a called play, and IMO a bad one. Let Santander swing the bat.

As he should. As they all should.
