Its kind of expected in this day and age
Willard is pursuing the portal pretty hard. He is definitely not thinking of phoning in '22-'23 and playing for '23-'24. Pretty optimistic he is going to have a solid Year 1 roster.

Under Armour needs to pilot their NIL program at their flagship school, Maryland. Adidas already rolling out a nationwide NIL program to all Adidas schools.
Set up a separate call with Kevin Plank for these kids.
Arkansas, in some polls, the early 2022-23 #1 ranking. There's no reason Maryland can't get there, by comparison. But everyone knows their NIL program is robust.

Having Scott back as a 4th year guy is a nice gift for Willard. Same with Hart. Excited to see how he can develop Reese, that’s one of KW’s strength’s, allegedly, so we’ll see.
Agreed, Scott, Reese and Hart can be the core of next years team. I hope he is able to land a PG or two and some size, whether it is from the portal or incoming freshman. It sounds like he has worked on keeping players from this years squad while trying to play catch up recruiting wise.

Manning, Jr. has officially been retained as Director of Basketball Operations.Sounds like Willard will retain Greg Manning, Jr. on his staff, and also add Tevon Saddler. Manning has been on Maryland’s staff since 2018, serving three years as the team’s video coordinator and last season as director of basketball operations. His father played for the Terps under Lefty Driesell, and he has Baltimore ties dating back to his playing days at Loyola under Jimmy Patsos.
Saddler is a Baltimore native who played at UNC Greensboro and Nicholls State in college before coaching for the Colonels and most recently at McNeese State.
Saddler is expected to be named Director of Recruiting Operations soon.

Is either position allowed to officially recruit or coach or are these just administrative positions (not that that would make them unimportant)?

Hopefully one of them or someone in the program, becomes very knowledgeable in the NIL process.

They’re both administrative positions and aren’t allowed to coach on the court or recruit off-campus, but can recruit on-campus and coordinate visits.

Danny Manning is headed to Louisville as an assistant coach.
Good for Danny. He seems like a good guy, who was put into an almost impossible position and did his best.

Needs some time to recover from all those mean things the fans said about him.

Exactly, who knew Mark was so sensitive. It is not like, he was one of the highest paid state employees.

Aidan McCool has entered the transfer portal. That should be the final Maryland player to depart the program, unless something unexpected happens.

Dziuba, Martinez, and Revaz should also be back.
