That’s total BS. JKD is the definition of a home run hitter. Only a matter of time. I think he’s a possible X-Factor.

He certainly is.  The man led the league in yards per carry.

My take....Preston is a hack who goes out of his way to be negative and to make himself look like an expert.  The Sun has seen so many talented writers go, yet Preston remains.

I generally like Preston because he's the lone voice in the area who isn't afraid to say and write things other writers would be scared to. That said, I can't agree with his assessment of Dobbins. He clearly showed two years ago that he was a field stretching running back. You don't average 6.0 yards a carry and be nothing more than a grinder. I was fully confident he was going to become an elite runner going into last year. I just hope he's one of the lucky ones who comes back as strong as before the injury.

Preston's comment was kind of a mixed bag. You'd have to know his definition of home run hitter to find real fault with it.

"There is a lot of optimism around Dobbins. He has been eager to return since training camp opened in late July. As a rookie, he gained 805 yards on 134 carries and scored nine touchdowns.

He had that rare combination of speed and power. He wasn’t a home run hitter, but he could still gain big chunks of yardage. His one-cut, downhill style was perfect for the Ravens’ offense."

Good news for once.

Jeff Zrebiec

@jeffzrebiec
Ravens had all 53 players on practice field today. QB Lamar Jackson, sans elbow sleeve, was also throwing. WR Devin Duvernay out of concussion protocol and participating. CB Marlon Humphrey also working.

Another positive is TE Nick Boyle and LT Ronnie Stanley, who have been getting Thursday's off, were on the field  today.

Even if Stanley isn't back Sunday, I would bet with Buffalo coming to town next week, this is the last game he potentially misses. Would be nice to see him play in NE, get a game under his belt and shake some rust off.

Yea one week for a career.

Because he will definitely get hurt and ruin his career in the 5 touches they give him to start out. Especially since it's only been almost 14 months since the original injury. 🙄

Dobbins has the 72 yarder and then all his other TDs were 5 yards or less. I guess you could argue he wasn't a home run hitter if you look at a HR as just a long TD. But I feel like he had lots of long runs. Either way it's just nitpicking.

So missing 5 carries is enough for you to lose patience?

Is Martinez any good. How have his PFF grades been in the past?

The Giants cut him to sign Tyre Phillips :)

He was a stud before his injury.  We'll find out together if he can recover.

No. Seeing him practice in full, and not being progressed forward does though. This will be 2 and a half weeks of full practices. At some point you need to bite the bullet and let him go. If you have a shiney corvette that can run, and you're taking the bus to work every day, I think it's time to just go ahead and take the risk, and pull it out and let it do what it was built to do.

He's about league average. Decent everywhere, but not really great at anything. Probably better than anyone we currently have.

Twitter is saying that Martinez is visiting the Raiders tomorrow so he’s not signed yet I guess. JPP is signed.

Does JPP have to pass the conditioning test?  I wonder if he passes first day.

He wasn’t in a camp so he may take a bit to be ready. At least Martinez was in camp. Just depends on what he’s been doing I guess.
