There is no reason to rush him.  The Orioles are playing the long game.  Be cautious with Heston and let him ease in.

Mike Elias said Heston Kjerstad has experienced some recurring inflammation with his heart,, slowing down plan for his return. Said it is a bump in the road, but serious and tricky condition. Will back up his timeline to return.

105.7 said after Elias statement they had had on the Player Development Director two weeks ago, and was stated then the expectation was Kjerstaf would not get any pt this year.

Huge curve for his development. Hopefully healthy and ready to go next Spring.

The human part of this is just take what you need to get healthy.  It is what it is right now so you can remove the baseball piece (he has 5+M).

 

....but there IS a baseball component to this and ....ugh.  He'll have gone 2 years with no competitive baseball.  Not sure how there's justification for the top100 at this point.

Feel terrible for the kid and hope for a full, speedy recovery.

From a #2 overall draft pick outlook, just absolutely terrible for the team.

The only thing that really matters as everyone has said, is his health.  I think he still has plenty of time to show us what he can do when he is healthy

I think the FCL goes till September 18th. Would be cool if he got a few games. Not sure if that’s reasonable.

I'm not going to get my hopes up until he's actually playing the game again. He's been through this before, and his heart began to act up again after too much physical activity. I'm certainly not hoping for that to happen, but it's hard to feel confident until I see it actually happening.
