Who are some players you guys think I should "target" for investment?

Guys that are maybe undervalued right now that may pop.  They generally say to stay away from pitchers and catchers.

I think Robert will be a superstar. But I think you already have him targeted.

I would buy a high grade Jordan rookie. It will cost 8-10k right now but if you are looking for an investment, I would bet on that being worth 30-70k in a decade.

Are you looking for minor league players who aren't the top top prospects but guys who could "blow up"?

Yea or a guy who is currently in the big leagues and might be close to popping.

Feel like the breaks I see on YouTube the Alvarez, Aquino, and Bichette rookies are going straight into the penny sleeves. Seems to be an indicator those are the special guys.

Just as a general rule, if you're looking for deep in the minor leagues, 60% of all Arizona Fall League players make the Majors. There's additional stats out there but many eventually become All-Stars as well.

One guy who I really like (who shot up from Astros top 25 or so prospect to #3 over the winter) is SS Jeremy Pena - son of former MLBer Geronimo Pena.

Note: Aside from making the deals, I have no idea what's valuable and what's not in the baseball card market. Just trying to give you some ideas and a gauge for what prospects might pop if/when they reach the big leagues.

Bought another box of Series 1. Had a couple nice hits in it.

Auto Jake Rodgers Rookie Card in Topps 85’ style, black border parallel. #/199

Dale Murphy Topps 85’ black boarder parallel. #/299

Max Scherzer short print where he is batting, and in the expos powder blue throwback.

Gavin Lux Rookie Card in Topps 56’ style.

But the cream of the crop...

Ripped another box of Bowman 2020 today.

If anything, collecting these cards is going to get me to know the minor leagues a lot better.

Pulled another Dominguez.  This one I may keep...just in case.

My auto was Diosbel Arias in the Rangers' organization.  It's his 1st Bowman so if he somehow blows up I get a nice card on my hands.

Pedro. Are all of the chrome cards you pull bent? Or should I say bowed? I got two of the series 1 hobby boxes. And the silver pack cards are like chrome (they just don’t call them that) and they are bowed. I splurged and bought my first pack or bowman today. (1 pack, 32 cards). Got a chrome Nico Horner rookie. Bowed. I don’t want to do something like put a pile of books on it.

In other news, no Dominguez, no autos, the Horner rookie and a base Robert rookie seem to be the best of the bunch.

Ya they’re slightly bent. I just put them in a penny sleeve and top loader and it’s fine. The base chrome that aren’t worth anything I just store in a box with countless others

I came across this article about a Trout RC going for $900k. They mention the well known Fleer MJ rookie card graded PSA 10 at the same auction went for $99,630. From what I’ve read about that card, to find one at a PSA 10 is very rare because the centering is off on a lot of them.

Well there is proof that my local Target does, in fact, have a baseball card vendor!

Of course, no Bowman 2020 was there, but they did have Topps Big League 2020!!  (sarcasm for those unaware lol).

I did buy two packs because, what the hell, but these are cheap-o cards for kids.

I think I’m done buying retail, just cause the hits I’ve gotten have come from hobby. The more I read, it seems like for making money the only thing to buy is bowman and bowman chrome. Send in a bulk order to PSA and hope you get some gem 10s back, and hope those guys become stars.

I was also watching a video of a guy breaking open Topps Finest which was just released last week. 2 autos per hobby box, but he said they put the autos in the same position in the box. So he warned not to buy single packs cause shop owners will pull those packs for themselves.

I don’t know if that’s true for Bowman, but now I wish I didn’t spend $60 on one jumbo pack when the packs with the autos could have already been yanked. I also don’t know how I can justify to the misses buying a whole box at that price of those either, but I might anyway. Better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission, right.

Yea I’ve been thinking what’s to stop a shop owner from opening a hobby box, pulling the auto, and selling the rest as loose hobby packs?

I tried a live break last Friday and it was very fun. May stick to those

At least Target and Walmart don’t take returns on card packs. Imagine buying 5 packs from them, then ripping a hobby box, finding the auto, and returning 5 of the loose packs from that box?

Randall I'm looking to maybe do a Bowman 2020 break if you're interested -- if my math is right, with shipping, would prolly work out to $15/team or so.  Would like to find at least 10 people so we can have 3 teams/person.
