Hit a game tying 3 run homer in the 9th inning today in a game Bowie would win in the 10th.
3-4 with a walk on the day to salvage a pretty lackluster week.

Was lucky enough to witness his HR today in person. Couldn't tell if it was tears or sweat running down my face.

The homer was pretty impressive.
He hit it off his picture on the video board. I wonder how far it would have gone if it had not drilled his face, on the board.
Does he win a free steak for doing that?

He got a pretty big signing bonus. He can buy his own.

The young man is beginning to flex his muscles. A game tying 3 run shot with 2 out in the 9th.

Earl would have loved this kid. A switch hitting catcher who belts 3 run shots.

Another homer.
Stay at AA to work with Hall and Rodriguez or move to AAA to see if he's challenged offensively there?

Yeah. AAA.

I have mixed feelings about moving him.
I want to see him challenged, but I also like seeing a group learn to win together. I think they will move him in the second half.

This is how I feel. Ideally I'd like to see him and Hall move up together in another month or so.

I'll be honest, I forgot just how great Wieters was in the minors. I knew he was damn good and was the #1 prospect but over 1.000 OPS for his minor league career is damn impressive. He's about halfway in terms of PA to matching Wieters' AA line that helped make him one of the highest rated prospects in recent memory. He's a year older than Matt was (obviously the lost year hurts there).
Real big test will be AAA. Wieters' got about 1/3 of a year there with a ~900 OPS. Rutschman should get close to that much time there this year plus the first 3 weeks of 2022. I'd be very surprised if they push him any faster, solely for service time reasons.
