Lol.
A certain someone already said Rutschman looks "overmatched". That was on Opening Night.

Adley Rutschman

Opposite field homer in his first at bat today.
Not enough bat speed to pull the ball, I see.

I know Mackus was joking...are you?
Certainly going to be interesting to see if he is Wieters or Posey.

Only counts as a positive if it was pulled. We're missing information here...

Lol, yes. I'm being sarcastic.
It'd be disappointing if he ends up only as good as Wieters, even though Wieters ended up much better than most first round draft picks.

Unfortunately it was off of the opposite field wall...

I'd like some comment from some of the Minors/development guys here. I watched the DL Hall strikeout compilation from his first start and Rutschman seems hyper active in his receiving on nearly every pitch. I don't see any way he can maintain that approach (basically leaping from the crouch to a squat) as part of every pitch. I went back and looked at other guys videos and I can't find anyone else doing that like that.
1) He's going to wear himself out over the course of the game
2) He's not going to be able to do that with any type of nagging lower leg injuries
3) It has to be something of a distraction to the pitcher to be moving that much in the middle of delivering the pitch
thoughts?

Another homer today. 434 feet.
He has 13 bb's, and 12 k's.
With a .231 baa, he has a .957 OPS.

The homer was pretty impressive.
He hit it off his picture on the video board. I wonder how far it would have gone if it had not drilled his face, on the board.
