All the talk of Diaz not being as good here as he was with LA may have some merit but injuries have been a big part of that.  He is in and out of the lineup seemingly all the time.  He is too muscular or something?  Seems to always have issues with his hammy.

Also missed just over a month in 2016 and the first couple weeks of 2018 to go with now two injuries in 2019.  I don't know what those previous injuries were, but definitely something to watch.

3-5 with a walk and home tonight.

This from Luke Siler:

Yusniel Diaz is having a great night, but he is not healthy, he looks very limited in his ability to run. He’s been dealing with nagging injuries all year. I bet he’s going to come out and look like an absolute stud in spring training next year.

In 28 games after the All Star break, Bowie's Yusniel Diaz hit .299/.356/.472. Over his last 4 playoff games he is 8-for-19 with 3 EBHs and 4 RBIs.

Yep.

Good to know that they felt he was ready for AAA if he had stayed healthy.

I feel like Diaz is more likely to become a #7 hitter type than anything, which isn't exactly where you want your corner outfielders to be.

Still, any major leaguer that can show he belongs will make this team better.

I think this is an important year for Diaz.  I saw him once in 2018 and once in 2019.  His swing looks long.  I keep thinking the Dodgers rarely give up any prospect who they really like.   I hope that is not the case here.

Even with the window closing on a 2020 debut, Yusniel Diaz is inching closer to the major leagues.

I am just not that excited about him yet. Hope I am wrong but when you tout a slash line at AA like his 76 game stretch ....well its ok for sure but not what I want from an everyday player and he hasn't made it to AAA yet although clearly this weird year messed that up. Hopeful but not holding my breath.

I have gotten the feeling for some time that the Elias regime, is not as high on Diaz as the past regime was.  I saw him at Bowie last year and his arm is real.  He can throw.  His bat needs to improve to be a regular in the majors.

He was never right last year health wise.

He impressed this Spring. He's apparently been impressing this Summer.

I believe if he looks strong next Spring, and performs over the first two months at AAA.... he'll be up for good by Memorial Day.

Those numbers are pretty solid considering offense was horrid in the Eastern League last year. Diaz can be a pretty electric player and he's already shown that last year and in spring.
