Shouldn’t they have figured all this out already.
He figured out how to dominate AAA hitters. Majors is a huge jump.

AAA to ML is such a big jump. Its only the elite. So no, its very understandable why you just do what works until you face adversity and are forced to change. There is a reason why numerous players break in struggle and take time to get back and become a legit ML caliber player. It should be expected tbh but its not. People remember the Julio Rodriguez and Acunas and Spencer Striders of the world and forget about the many times more guys who take lumps. Sometimes big lumps.
Shouldn’t they have figured all this out already.

Would be nice if the Orioles could have just one highly touted pitching prospect come up and look like they at least belong.

Too early to get discouraged. Give him 4-5 years geez

Easy to say now. Today. Plenty would argue that despite the results not being ideal he looked like he belonged before today. Its just such an easy statment to make after today.Would be nice if the Orioles could have just one highly touted pitching prospect come up and look like they at least belong.

But the lack of quality secondaries has been apparent from pretty much the jump. The fastball will play so much better once he improved the secondaries. If he can improve the secondaries. IMO its not something you try to figure out up here. Call up Irvin. I dont care about the results for Rodriguez at AAA. Just have him working on reshaping and improving his secondary pitches.
The secondaries are fine they’re just inconsistent and he needs to command them better (obviously).

Which team do you think Grayson will win his Cy Young with?Too early to get discouraged. Give him 4-5 years geez
If it were a prop that IF Gray Rod were to win a Cy Young, would it be with Baltimore? It’d probably be something like yes +2500, no -3500. Maybe even longer.

I disagree. The changeup is a plus at times. Hes flashed that in a few starts but has been inconsistent at best with it. I dislike the curve, slider, cutter mix after that. IMO they all need work. Real work.

This is all fine to say now but people need to be called out and held accountable for nonsense said when they are wrong. Even in frustration. There is no doubt in my mind Pedro believes what he is saying. So in 2 or 3 years he should have to eat all the crow when GRod is a solid #2 or even #3 starter. Let alone an ace.
Can we do this for the stuff you say too?
Or is that somehow not allowed?

He has no out pitch. Or at least hasn’t gotten it to work at MLB level. Reminds me of Tillman in that aspect. At this point I’d be thrilled for him to have a Tillmanesque career.

There is *zero* chance he wins a Cy Young here. I could see him going to San Francisco or something and turning it around. Gausman style.
