Blind homerism is blind homerism. JoePA was much more highly thought of and respected than Roy anyway. So yeah, its not the greatest comparison.
I don't understand why people can accuse of homerism but can't accuse of...what would the mirror image be...haterism? I dunno. I mean, if you're busy accusing us, why can't you be accused of that?
This McCants interview should be fuuuuuuuuuun...

This is Exhibit A (among zillions) of why we need Minor League Football... the entire mess is because guys chasing the NFL have to go to college even if they don't want to go to college... it's the NFL skating for free on (what used to be) academia...

Interesting... didn't know that...
But it's like the independent minor leagues... not the real deal... the NFL should have a Taxi League where 2nd (and 3rd) squads can play each other...

They should, but they won't until the colleges start dumping football at the level it is currently. They get player development at zero cost to the league.
Only when that source dries up will they make a real attempt.

College football is popular because of the name on the front of the jersey.

There is no market for minor league football.
College football is popular because of the name on the front of the jersey.
It isn't about a market, it's about development.
The NFL needs someone to get the high-schoolers who aren't remotely ready for the NFL to the point where they are. So if colleges stopped providing that service, someone would step in.

The NFL isn't going to spend money on a developmental league.
So when they need one, who will?

That said, the BS going on at these schools needs to stop. UNC should pay a heavy price.

I think at some point the academic side of one of these big football schools--especially one with a good academic reputation like Michigan or Cal or even UNC--is going to get fed up with scandals like this and revolt.
