Looks like some confirmed positive tests for the Titans - practice facility closed until Saturday. And it looks like the Vikings, who the Titans just played, are also taking precautions. It's unclear how this would affect the Titans-Steelers game this weekend.

This is the NFL's nightmare. It will be interesting to see if the Vikings and the Titans play this week.

This is where I should note that the mayor of Knox County is Glenn Jacobs, better known as WWE wrestler Kane.
Kane is an anti-masker.
That's hilarious on so many levels.

Did not realize Kane was an anti-masker. Amusing, to say the least.

Seems like this would be a pretty big advantage for the Steelers.

He's just a big hipster. He was wearing a mask before wearing a mask was cool.

This is about the time I thought they might start seeing some problems, roughly two weeks after opening day. The NFL has a few options but I think the most preferable one is to just to play the game. Once you start trying to fit games in here and there it becomes a nightmare. Anyone positive will just have to sit out. It will probably affect most teams at some point this year.

Inspired by MLB, the NFL will have them play two 40-minute games in the same day

Wonder how the Steelers feel about this?
They feel like they are getting an easy game against a depleted team. But may be exposed to Covid.

They already played Sunday's game between Tennessee and Minnesota despite the fact that their were several positives from the Tennessee staff and at least one player. They will test everyone leading up to the game and any further positives will be scratches. I think the only thing the league can do is hope the outbreaks can be contained through quarantines and contract tracing.

Tennessee / Pittsburgh is being postponed... maybe to Monday Night.

I still do not see how that happens. The facility is closed for the week. It is a severe disadvantage for both the Titans and the Vikings to have to play a game with no preparation.

I wonder if this was covered in the covid protocols the league and players association agreed upon. TBH, I think the players don't mind not practicing, relaxing at home for a week, having positional meetings on zoom. Probably worried more about the increased risk of testing positive at some point during the week than going into a game cold.
