ESPN: Bud Adams upset with Titans' effort

http://espn.go.com/n...uts-team-notice

I see this more as the "old guy" saying, "I want to win NOW." Leon Hess said sort of the same thing when the Jets were in tailspin in the early-to-mid 90s when he stated "I'm 80..."

Adams, 89, told the Tennessean that he was so disheartened by the team's effort that he left in the third quarter so he could fly home to Houston.

I found it a little odd that he still lived in the city, which he abandoned. I guess that more speaks to the fact, that Oilers fans weren't too intense.

That is interesing that he stll lives in Houston. What a weird situation.

Titans got flat out spanked yesterday. I'm definitely surprised the Bears are 7-1, but they seem like the real deal. I will say, I'm just not a believer in Cutler when it comes to a tough playoff game.

The whole defense is a bunch of ball hawks. I would know...I was playing a guy with CHI D in fantasy. They ended up scoring 27 points with our scoring system. Luckily, I had Marshall who also had a fantastic day due to the Titans just laying down.

The commish in my league got spanked yesterday... went up against a team that had Martin from TB and Marshall from Chicago. Those two alone outscored his whole team.

Haha my lord. That would have been 82 points (from 2 players) in my league. And just think...I almost had traded Jordy to get Martin yesterday afternoon. I texted the guy who had Martin later on and he was so happy he didn't make that deal.

Good stuff. If I had to guess, I'd put them at about a 6 or 7 win team, primarily because I don't think too much of Locker. They aren't great anywhere and aren't terribly weak anywhere, except maybe QB. Relatively high floor, low ceiling.

Houston Chronicle: Titans owner Bud Adams dies at 90

http://blog.chron.co...bud-adams-dies/

Amazing the contrast between him/Modell, who moved their respective teams at almost the same time. Bud Adams continued to live in Houston even after he moved the team, Modell never returned to Ohio.

Ironic timing with Bum Phillips death as well.

Nice that Adams had the foresight and financial means to make sure the Titans could stay in his family. But like the article points out, things can often get prickly when a group of heirs with their own separate interests inherit a sports franchise. We'll see. Either way, they have a good stadium and (I think) solid attendance, so doesn't seem like relocation would be in the foreseeable future, even if they do eventually end up selling it.

They've sold out ever since they moved into the stadium in Nashville, so I doubt they're in any immediate trouble. I'm sure Adams consulted with his family like Abe Pollin did. And if they didn't want to continue, they probably would've found a willing buyer to keep it in Nashville. Like you said, anything can happen.

All the politicians in Tennessee hailed Adams as a hero for his role in raising the profile of their city. When they were getting bad attendance in Memphis and at Vandy, this didn't look like a great move, Houston won too, they get a new team(and stadium) not too long after they left.
