Finished my other draft. Picking 6 out of 12.

Wanted to do better at WR going in, but guys were getting snatched up and I thought the RB value was pretty good along the way. I thought I had Michael Thomas at the top of my queue at one point, but messed it up. My goal is to trade a depth RB for a starting WR.

Will have to cobble together my TEs.

Don't often take defenses before near the end, but Seahawks were going to be something like the 6th off the board so I did it.

QB: A. Rodgers

RB: L. McCoy

Flex: L. Miller

WR: A. Robinson

WR: J. Maclin

TE: J. Doyle

DST: Seahawks

K: Lutz

Bench RB: C. Hyde, T. Coleman, T. West, J. Hill

Bench WR: W. Snead (sus), M. Jones, R. Matthews

Bench TE: A. Hooper

Count me in the Johnson over Bell camp. Part of it is that Bell is a Steeler, part is that he's probably more likely to end up missing time at some point. Both great players, can't really go wrong.

I had my final draft Sunday night. 12 team ppr, pick 8. Up to three keepers, costs two rounds higher than where you drafted them year before (e.g. 2016 5th = 2017 3rd), and waiver pickups cost a 14th.

I started out in great shape thanks to my high value keepers, so I took some chances and drafted certain positions earlier than I usually would.

QB - Brees
RB - M. Gordon (keeper, 5th)
RB - Ajayi (keeper, 14th)
WR - Evans
WR - M. Thomas (keeper, 11th)
TE - Gronk
Flex - McCaffrey
Flex - Abdullah
D/ST - Carolina
K - Sturgis

Bench -
A. Robinson, Garcon, K. White, Thielen, Beasley
Vereen
Brate
Wentz

Nearly took Kareem Hunt in the 2nd, but went with Gronk instead. Then Hunt went a few picks later. Oh well. I'll probably drop a receiver for more running back depth at some point.

Your starting lineup certainly looks fine. I would have taken Gronk over Hunt without a second thought.

You can probably drop Beasley for a flyer bench RB right now and it would look even better.

I had the same problem with WR. I grabbed a top QB in the first 4 rounds, then drafted a really good high potential QB in the 6th-8th. One league it's already paid off. Took Rodgers in the 4th and Newton in the 10th in a league. Drafted McCoy and Gordon, then traded Newton for TY Hilton. Ended up with Russell Wilson in return. So I still have a good back up option to Rodgers and a decent #1 WR to go with Gordon and McCoy.

I've done this the past few years. Some guys wait too long for a QB and end up with a volatile guy like Stafford or Rivers. And have a ton of depth at WR. Usually can grab a second tier WR for someone like Newton, Wilson or someone similar.

If you have MIA or TB players, get them out of your Week 1 lineup.

Game postponed to Week 11.

Work league is 14 teams: QB, WR, RB, TE, FL, FL, IDP, IDP, K, and 5 bench spots.  I had the #1 pick:

QB:  Luck, Palmer

RB: Johnson, Miller, Gore, Bernard

WR: Hilton, Benjamin, Fitzgerald, M.Bryant

TE: Doyle

IDP: Ja.Peppers, B.Breeland

K: Hopkins

Only once in the whole draft did someone I was targeting get scooped up a few picks before my turn.  Wanted Darren McFadden who was available late, but he went the pick before me.  Oh well, I'm happy with my team.  Though I didn't realize as I was doing it that I drafted basically every Colts skill position player.  Might be rough going early on while Luck is out or if he struggles when he gets back.

Here's how my other draft turned out this week:
Mike Evans
Jay Ajayi
Dez Bryant
Isaiah Crowell
Travis Kelce
Tyreek Hill
Ameer Abdullah
Doug Martin
Jameis Winston
Tyrell Williams
Derrick Henry
Matt Stafford
Ted Ginn
Marvin Jones
Rams
Seabass

Very pleased, and a weak match-up Week 1 means I potentially won't lose due to the rescheduling of Bucs-Dolphins. I easily have the top WR and RB duo in the league, plus I got Kelce who will definitely net some WAR over other TEs.

So I gotta roll with Cook and Mixon. Feel good about both guys, especially Cook since he looks like a bellcow, but Mixon will probably start slow in a committee and facing the Ravens week 1 will be tough. My bench RB's are abysmal...a bunch of dynasty stashes with Burkhead being the closest to valuable now.

Figured maybe this could be its own thread. Worth a shot.

I drafted Jeremy Hill in my penultimate round (Always draft kickers last!) Rams D is available in the pool. I think they will be pretty solid this year with Wade Phillips. This first week I have my sole D, Seahawks, @ Rodgers and company. Rams face Luck-less Colts. I think people might be overhyping Mixon a bit and I love RB lottery tickets. But what would you do?

Tate. I think Matthews was being drafted too low, but also has a murkier situation.

Tate or Diggs.  Tate right?

Side note, I love that Yahoo gave me all sorts of bad draft grades for taking Hunt in round 4.  Suck it yahoo

I think Diggs. Saints D man.

I was skeptical of Hunt, didn't know enough about him to buy in for my teams. Certainly looks good for you now.

I refuse to answer solely because you used the word "penultimate" in a fantasy football thread.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Tate usually but Diggs play NO and their defense is awful.

Yeah I think I'll roll with Tate but Ross is hurt and Decker is new. I think Matthews is still the guy in the TEN passing game. But Tate is Tate. Gonna lose either way. I started Burkhead and benched Mixon.

I expected it was going to be a rough week with my first two picks on an unexpected bye, but this is worse.  Crowell is 19 yards on 13 carries, and Abdullah has 11 on 8.  At least Marvin Jones caught Stafford's TD.

Actually my opponent has the Cards D, so Stafford's pick 6 did really screw me differential wise.
