Defense and positional adjustments seem to be the obvious reason here. I'm more surprised that Garcia didn't make the final 3 either.

He finished 9th in the MVP voting. Apparently it's the first top-10 finish for a player from a 100-loss team in 70 years.
Interesting. I think it speaks to what a great year Mullins had.
I do think the terrible season and reputation the Orioles have, hurt Mountcastle but it looks like the numbers Mullins turned in got noticed more.

Cedric deserves some love for the glove work recently.
Despite the pea shooter arm and despite the avg bat this year the glove and speed are impacting in a big way. He's a keeper. you put Hays and maybe Stowers next to him in the OF and let those guys cover a lot of ground for the next few years.
