Pretty sure no.
Had he been optioned yet this year?

I know he doesn't lose the service if it's less tna than a 20 day assignment, but does he burn the actual option?
Probably burns an option but who cares. He will still have 1 left and the chances that it will matter in '24 is nearly non existent

I think this is his last option if he burns it. Fangraphs says he has 1 left, assume that hasn't been updated tonight.

I guess maybe he was optioned in '20. I assumed he wasnt. I still dont care. It wouldnt shock me if they removed him from the 40 man

I think he did a good job for most of the year, but he has faltered late.
Jake Reed would have been the guy I sent down, but not that big of a deal.

Reed would have to clear waivers

Long man next year could be he and Baumann sharing a spot between here and Norfolk. Wells and Hall also on that shuttle, though I think I'd rather have Wells in MR and Hall at AAA trying to fix the things he needs to fix to start. Lot of good options, just think we're a little deeper and better if Akin remains one of them. If he has no options, we'll lose him at some point. Not a big loss by any means but I'd rather not just give him away.

Who cares. Love somebody to take him off our hands.

Ok I checked, he won't burn an option this year since it'll be under 20 days total in the minors. Clever roster management from Elias & Co.

Akin had a pretty good year last year, but like others in the pen, he is iffy for 23. I still would like to see Akin in a long role. If a starters gets knocked out early use one guy to go long instead of burning up 3 or 4 guys fore the next game or two.
