I said it last night when we were down 1 and he pitched the 7th how dumb it was. Akin just proved me right a day later. Good job Hyde

He is on the roster and has to be used.

 

Baumann, Coulombe, Cano, and Felix had been used, before Akin came in to pitch.

 

Perez and Baker, had pitched two days in a row, Zimmerman threw 3 innings on Monday.

 

Akin was all that was left.

Charles or Bazzardo should be up for Akin tomorrow. Period. You dont need 4 lefties. Personally Id have both up for Akin and Zimmerman. Or if you wanna keep Zimm as a long man cut Perez. Bottom line is 2 of the 3 lefties not named Coulombe should be gone and 1 of those 2 has to be Akin

He has a career 5.18 ERA over 226 MLB innings. Seriously, enough already. If anther team turns him into a halfway decent lefty RP so be it.

I would like them to keep a long man, which I guess right now is Zimmerman.  I would move on from AKin and Perez.  Good Luck to both.  What about Vespi?

Vespi has one more option year so that might keep him on the 40 man. Not assured though. Will depend on how much room they need for other guys they like and want to keep.


You could ask Phelan how Vespi stacks up against the other lefties in AAA. Hernandez and Lucas.
