You really only have 4 teams for the 2022 season that are intentionally non-competitive. Usually you have 6-8.
Orioles, As, DBacks and Pirates.
...and I have no idea how to characterize the Reds, other than ridiculous.

A's will just reload and be back in 2 yrs. Then trade off again.

Yikes, one year removed from a core piece of the Olson trade, Pache isn't making the A's roster, is out of options and will be traded or waived (off 40)

A's walked 17 Mets last night. 17.

Sounds like this is it for the Oakland A’s. The opossum in the TV booth must have been the final straw.
Their lease in Oakland expires after next season. No way they get a stadium built in time for OD 2025. Sounds like we may see yet another zombie team playing in Oakland while waiting to split town for Vegas.

Oakland loses the As Raiders and Warriors in, what, a 5 year span?
Yeesh.
It sucks for Oakland. That stadium is well past awful though. I went to a few games out there about 10 years ago, and the place was terrible then. I am surprised the A's are still there.

Yea the place is a complete and utter dump. There is no way to sugar coat it -- it's embarrassing that a major league team still plays there. This has been a long time coming and it appears that the City of Oakland simply has no interest in keeping their professional sports franchises.

Oakland's lack of interest in maintaining or replacing the stadium, has been great news for Vegas.

I don't recall Oakland making much effort to keep the Warriors, though them only moving across the bay might have made it easier to let them go. The city didn't seem to want to go too far to keep the Raiders either, but with just 8 or so games a season it does seem to make less economic sense to spend a billion to build a stadium.
With the A's though, this has been going on for like 20 years. Though it is more difficult to get something like that built in California than just about anywhere else.

While I know the Coliseum is a dump, I don't know all the details about getting a new stadium built. Is this another case of a city not wanting to subsidize a billionaire like in San Diego or is there more to it?
