I doubt we'd see him starting very often, but he could be a real nice bat off the bench late in games.

I definitely can see him pinch hit late in a game, drawing a walk, then Avery comes in to pinch run.

I'd agree that they ease him back in as a pinch-hitter, but if he looks good after a couple weeks, I could definitely see them starting him at DH (if, God help us) we make the playoffs.

Big doubles on back-to-back days in Boston. Could be a very helpful bat the rest of the way, especially with Betemit's injury.

Thome had the game-tying home run in tonight's slugfest. It would be great if he could catch a little hot streak for the final 6 games.
