What's the point of this post?  I'm sure there is a very salient argument being made buried in there somewhere.

Zobrist to the Royals.

Summary from MLBTradeRumors:

The Royals have officially acquired Athletics utilityman Ben Zobrist, as first reported by Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). Young hurlers Aaron Brooks and Sean Manaea are the two pieces heading back to the A’s, as Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (via Twitter) and Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com (Twitter link) were first to report.

He's good with it, he really does understand why it's for the best long term. He has a Car Go jersey, so that one might be a little tougher actually. He was wearing his Rockies hat while watching "Quick Pitch" this morning, in honor of the deal.   :)

You're raising your kid to wear non-Orioles uniforms?

Papelbon has done it in October.

Storen hasn't.

Smart move for Washington.

The NL is going to have 5 legit WS teams this year... Giants, Dodgers, Cards, Nats and Pirates.

I'm raising a die hard Baseball fan.

He has a Machado, Jones, and Wieters jersey, and one Rockies, which is CarGo.

And there's a chance that the Cubs pass one of them for the second wild card.

There's a chance. I think next year is their year. Buccos are locked in. Dodgers or Giants would have to slip. And the Cubs would absolutely be a legit threat if they make it. Again... I think too many key contributors are just too young. Next year for them IMO... the NL Central is going to have a really good top 3 for a long time.

No doubt. And that's why I don't think they're in on any of the big names. Might move Starlin Castro for a pitcher, and move Russell to SS. But other than that, I don't see anything major.

They could use a closer bad though.

OK... that seems better in context... it's just that, you know, the Jeter thing left scars   ;-)

Angels just picked up David Murphy and David DeJesus...Which means they also get Kim DeJesus, which is never a bad thing.

That's the first I've heard of her so I googled her. She's unbelievable.
