Holy Shit!!! Game changer.
Though how's he going to stay healthy playing on that turf every night?
Tulo is the perfect player for the Blue Jays. Absolutely injury prone plus aging. And now can't be traded without his permission.

I heard this morning that Toronto could flip Tulo in another deal. Not sure I believe that or not but they need pitching, so who knows.

His contract says he can only be traded once. Although, I suppose he'd be happy to leave Toronto.

Yea, players can always say they are ok with a trade.

But it's awfully risky. What if he says no? It would be easier to make it a three-way deal to ensure that Tulo has no say in the matter.

This sounds like the opposite of what the guy meant (and I heard it too, so I'm thinking a reporter heard it backwards, not you). I can totally see Colorado looking to flip Reyes. But there is no sense to Toronto looking to flip Tulowitzki.

Last night/early morning, the consensus was that there was a third team, but that died down by morning.
Definitely see Reyes moving sooner than later. Rox have a pretty good SS prospect (Trevor Story) about ready.

Have you talked to the kiddo about the trade yet? How'd he take it?

He's good with it, he really does understand why it's for the best long term. He has a Car Go jersey, so that one might be a little tougher actually. He was wearing his Rockies hat while watching "Quick Pitch" this morning, in honor of the deal.

Kudos Seth, that's great work out of you. No way I'd handle a guy like Tulo being traded very well at that age.
Wasn't a trade, different circumstances, etc... but I was 15 (a good bit older than your son) when Mussina signed with the Yankees. Man... that more than anything made me hate, and I mean hate, a sports team for the first time.

He's a sharp kid when it comes to Baseball, it's definitely in his blood. Put it this way, when we were watching the draft, as soon as the Rockies took Brendan Rogers (SS) Drew said "Well there goes Tulo I guess" . Hopefully these pitchers can help the Rockies win in the next few years...
I still blame the Orioles for losing Mussina, but i understand the frustration, especially at that age.

No. Stark was pretty clear. There is some talk of them flipping him. He did briong up the NTC thing and that he may not want it but he specifically mentioned the Padres, which didn't make sense to me given their payroll issues but maybe Toronto is taking back Shields and Kimbrel, as well as other pieces?

Why does Seth always root for the worst teams.
#whybeanerwhy
I'm not "rooting" for them..
Just like seeing teams go for it. I feel the same way about the Astros and any other teams trying to win. Analyzing from a pure Baseball fan standpoint..
