Stop what?
Snell is top 2-3 right now, and is legit if Sale doesn't come back.

This is a courageous, astonishing post from Addison Russell’s ex-wife Melisa Reidy and I hope Cubs fans are supportive of her bravery in publishing it. https://lifewithmelis310373032.wordpress.com/2018/09/19/site-settings-you-no-longer-have-a-secret-you-have-a-story-wordpress-com …
So I advocated earlier this year going after Russell..... no thanks.

Well he wasn’t that good last year.

Well he wasn’t that good last year.
Yeah he was downright awful the O's and ok for the Braves. His stellar 1.52 ERA with the Braves was offset by a 1.31 whip. Not horrible but too many walks. Anyway, a better showing with the Braves couldn't save him from having to take a significant pay cut. This market is unforgiving for any dip in performance or when the age is pushing closer to 35 than 30. Pomerannz is one year removed from winning 17, sucks last year, and has to settle for 1.5mil Guaranteed. Might make 5mil with incentives. Brutal. And then Cabrerra had to settle for 3.5mil from Texas after a solid year. Some of these middling vets are getting slaughtered this season. Good luck Adam after that shit pot of a deal Markakis signed.

EDIT: 3/43 according to Jon Heyman. 4th year option according to Passan.

Going to be a bitter off season in Chicago. They've dropped 6 in a row to fall 4 games behind Milwaukee and Washington who are tied for the two WC spots. Four of those losses coming against bitter rival St. Louis, the likely NL Central winners.
With just 6 games remaining, they are virtually eliminated, but anything can happen I guess. At a minimum, perhaps they could help Milwaukee get the division with a revenge sweep in St. Louis this weekend to close out the season.
One of the disappointments of 2019, IMO. I was expecting them to make a run this year.

Remember, Pecota didn't like this team.
They had it right there but the pen hasn't been good. The Kimbrel signing has been terrible for them.

Same thing as last year, just a terrible finish to the season. Very curious who the next manager will be. Girardi seems obvious given his ties to the team, but I wouldn't count out David Ross moving from the booth to the bench.

He's not going to be brought back. I don't know this to be fact, but this is my very strong opinion. If I were a betting man, (wait, never mind), I'd bet the house on him not returning.
