Paul Pierce will be reuniting with Doc in LA. He spurned the Wiz, and with it about twice as much money.

He got a 3 year deal.  I wouldn't have gone 3 years for him.

The money being thrown around in the NBA is so crazy.

Seriously.  Jae Crowder got like 35 mil.  If only I could have been 5 inches taller...and ridiculously athletic.

Greg Monroe to the Bucks.

Was just looking at his stats.

He has basically been a 50% shooter with 15-16ppg and 9-10 boards for the last 4 years and he is still just 25.  He is a very consistent performer and he is also a good passer.

Nice signing for Milwaukee.  They are building a good young team there and if Jabari can be an AS level player, they could be a real threat in years to come.

Only problem is that he has missed some games with health issues.

So, the Lakers have struck out on all the big men.  The thought was they thought they would get a big man and that is why they drafted Russell.  Now, maybe they draft him anyway and that's fine but IF they really did just draft him over Okafor because they thought they were getting the big man, does that mean they made a poor calculation?

I agree.  I'm a big Greg Monroe fan...he's pretty underrated.  Detroit had so many bigs that I don't think he got enough credit.

Seriously, it's gonna look pretty normal in another year. To answer your earlier question, it looks like most of these 5 year deals only have a player option in the 5th year. Zach Lowe said he talked to an agent, who said most of the players prefer the security of guaranteed money over the risk-reward of taking a 1-2 year deal. And I'm sure the teams were saying it's either one or the other....no opt-out after 2 seasons, unless you're LeBron or someone at that level.

Greg Monroe to the Bucks.

Good....mostly because that means Portland won't get him. I couldn't understand their interest in him at all. Decent player in the paint, but he'd be a square peg in Portland's offense, not someone they should plug in to replace Aldridge.

If they thought Russell/Okafor were pretty close, and believe Russell will be their franchise PG, then they did fine, even if they had Okafor a bit higher. I definitely think they may have overestimated their appeal right now to free agents. They can sell cap space, history/tradition, and the off-court benefits of playing in LA all they want. But if a guy is going to walk away from an extra year and about $30 million from his current team, he's gonna do it for somewhere he can compete for a title immediately, and that is not the Lakers.

@WojYahooNBA: Phoenix has traded Marcus Morris, Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger to Detroit for future picks, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

LaMarcus Aldridge going to Phoenix is a possibility...this trade may help to clear cap space.

Aldridge is now meeting with Miami too. I don't see him and Bosh blending on the court together at all, though.

He's granted the Lakers a second meeting lol.

Wade back to the Heat, 1 year/$20 million. Makes their courtship of Aldridge even more strange, unless they think they can talk Portland into a sign-and-trade. If there's one thing the Blazers do have it's cap space.

So, was the original meeting that bad then?

Aldridge is either very confused about what to do, or he's channeling his inner LeBron/Dwight and enjoying being to focal point of attention.

After spending a decade in Portland, he's probably just happy to get some attention from anyone.

Is Aldridge really worth a max contract at the age of 30?
