There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

According to The Players Tribune Twitter acct, Love is going back to the Cavs. But the link to the article Love apparently wrote himself does not work, so take that for what it's worth, I guess.

Sounds like Wes Matthews is headed to the Mavs. Between that and Aldridge pretty much gone, it's a good thing marijuana became legal in Oregon today. Blazers (pun intended) fans are gonna need it.

Phoenix has agreed to a contract with Tyson Chandler, and according to Adrian Wojnarowski brought him into their meeting with Aldridge to help recruit. Interesting addition for the Suns (Chandler, that is) considering the strides Alex Len made last season.
As for the Mavs, it seems like they're up to their same M.O. of putting all their eggs into one basket (Jordan this time around).

He probably wants a max deal...they are saying go ahead and try and get one.

With the salary cap bump ahead, now is the time to give out a max contract if you have the room. Still don't think Green is worth all that, even in today's $, but someone might. He could have been a nice replacement for Batum on the Blazers, but they just dropped $30 million in Aminu's lap.

I'm wondering the same thing Pedro is... why all the long-term deals with the TV money coming in next off-season? Or do you think we'll hear details come out the next few days and see a lot of 1-year buy-out's?

Most of these guys are young enough to where they take the big money now and get more later.

Plus, in today's dollars most of them don't seem worth what they're getting, but that'll change in a year or two, and they'll look more like market-rate deals. And the teams probably feel it's worth it to overpay some in the beginning in exchange for locking the player up for 4-5 seasons. But I'd expect most of the star-caliber guys on the market this summer are going to get that 2-year opt-out.

And just to add to the above, Zach Lowe is reporting that the 5th year in Leonard's deal is a player option.

Paul Pierce will be reuniting with Doc in LA. He spurned the Wiz, and with it about twice as much money.

Love, Thompson, and now Shumpert get new deals from the Cavs.
David Aldridge
@daldridgetnt
Dan Gilbert thought the new CBA in 2011 would devastate smaller revenue teams (which Cavs were at time). Today: $230M in new contracts.
With some dude named LeBron still to come.
