Defintely wouldnt make it through waivers but he has little to no trade value. SSS but his ISO and walk rate were terrific. Again, a profile Im looking to keep and try to find ABs

Buy him a first base mitt over the offseason.

IMO, DJ is not good enough to worry about finding another position.

Id give DJ ABs in a heartbeat over Davis or Nunez. Whether 1b or DH. The fact that he's LH helps as LH power is something this organization lacks. Most of better hitters and prospects are RH. Santander is the only threat from the left side at the ML level and Adley is the only one in the high minors. Unless I'm blanking on someone.

Kjerstad is expected to have that but he hasn't played a professional game yet so we'll see there

Stewart said he lost 10-12 pounds "depending on the day." Added cardio, changed diet, hired someone to cook for him. #orioles

Interesting. He's a big dude but to me the weight never seemed to hold him back as he was still rather athletic for his size. If this adds to that, without sapping any of his recent power surge, then great.

I am glad to see DJ try to make changes.  He had a nice surge last year, about 2 weeks, but has not been good for the most part.

The lighter frame may help him on defense too, where he has been pretty bad.

Would be nice to find a way for Stewart, Hays, Mountcastle, Mullins too all get regular ABs but it would appear Stewart is probably the odd man out once Hays is healthy.

Stewart probably has the best ABs of any hitter on the team.

HR #6 last night. OPS up to .717.   Average is .207...  but has a .329 on-base % with his 20 walks.

So he's effectively filled Chris Davis' role before he took  a nose dive into being one of, if not THE worst, MLB player of the last 100 years.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

So the question becomes. Will pitchers figure out to just throw strikes so he doesn't walk and will DJ respond with hitting better? If he doesn't walk then his value drops a ton. But if they pitch more to him perhaps he hits better or certainly hits more HRs/

Seems so weird to me that a guy with apparently such a good eye and controlled swing has such a poor average.

It may be that he is just a streak hitter whose bad streaks last longer than his good ones.  Or maybe he is figuring things out.

I don't think the pitchers, are pitching around him, by not throwing strikes.  I just think he is better at laying off pitches out of the striker zone.

Mountcastle is better in LF than DJ and that isn't saying much. DJ is just awful.

What the heck is an osteochondral defect?

Now that I think about it, he did have microfracture surgery a few years ago.
