There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Thanks for the tips guys. It's hard for me to justify going to OBX even when it is warm since I can use my grandparents beach house in South Bethany for free anytime. But maybe someday.

One week till Sarasota. One.freaking.week.
About to head out of work to go home and then drive to Hagerstown for my flight down to Sarasota tonight.
I'll be at the game tomorrow.
Tickets ended up being $50. FIFTY DOLLARS!

What are you looking to do over spring break?

Not sure. May spend a few days in a cool city and/or depending on the weather go somewhere where we can do some good hiking. A good beer scene is an added bonus.

Portland seems like it'd be your type of scene. Really good food and beer.

I know Asheville would be good for that.
It would. It's perfect actually. And it's as close to Portland as you can get on this side of the Mississippi. 8 hour drive...

Biltmore?
I think we'd prefer something more in line with teacher's salaries.
Also it would be nice if we were in walking distance of stuff, which I assume isn't the case for Biltmore.

Got back from Sarasota yesterday. Some random thoughts :
- Flying out of Hagerstown couldn't have been easier. The airport is the size of a rest stop, the parking is free, and there's one flight at a time so while the airport gets crowded, everyone is on the same flight. The flight was a half hour late on the way down and 90 mins late going home, but we were sent a text to alert us of the delay so that gave us more time to chill in town before heading to the airport. I have family down there so I am definitely looking to go back down, probably during the 4-game weekend series against the Rays in mid-September.
- Ed Smith stadium is freaking awesome. So many flourishes to make it feel like OPACY and home. They had snowball stands, crabcake sandwiches, etc...the only thing I didn't see was Natty Boh. It would have been nice if the prices weren't so steep but whatever.
- The O's lost the game I went to -- the Red Sox B-team beat our opening day line-up but seeing Alvarez foul off like 6-7 pitches before hitting a rocket HR made it worthwhile.
- Norris looked terrible in the inning he pitched. Poor command, got shelled. I know it's ST, but not encouraging.
- This was my first time to the Gulf coast of Florida. Loved it. I want to move down there. It feels like living on vacation.
- If anyone likes upscale dining -- go to Indigenous. One of the best meals I've ever had and the waiter told us that Angelos had dined there earlier that night.

I went to a place called "The Pit" in Raleigh for BBQ. Long ass wait (it was 7 on a Saturday) but cannot recommend it highly enough. Sooooo good.

Cool. Maybe we'll check it out.
