True. Reynaldo Lopez has been really good for LAA too. Tor gonna pick both these guys up?? Im assuming as well that the lowest team gets first priorty on both or does it work like fantasy where if you claim a guy and win you get sent ti the back of the line. Prob not right. So Tor can just add two nice arms to their staff. Ridiculous.

Each player is their own waiver cycle, so Oakland has top priority for all of them and can add the whole gang if they wish.

This assumes Google gave me the right answer.

MLB should step in. Why wouldnt Tor claim everyone they want. Or even Bos. But its real shady if they all fall to at least Tor and 1 team claims 3 or 4 guys. Like I get most likely a team isnt gonna clear 4 guys off their own roster but still.

Oakland would have first choice of the American League players. Colorado would have the same in the National League.

No longer the case. One happy family.

I admit I pay way more attention to the Os than the league as a whole but I don’t feel like this is common at all. Maybe it just seems awful due to the sheer number, 20% of the roster waived seems nuts.

I'm not talking about the amount of players a team places on waivers (20% does seem nuts). I'm saying teams have given soon-to-be FA's a release to get a shot at the postseason.

Are you sure? The way I read it, the A's would rank first and therefore get their pick of any of the waived players since they're all American Leaguers. Kansas City is second and Colorado third. However, if a National League team were to waive a player, the Rockies would have first choice since they have the worst record in the NL.

There are a number of wildcard hopefuls, particularly in the National League, each of whom currently with a worse record than Toronto, who could add several of these arms to their own respective rosters.

Actually, I believe a team can use a rescission option once on a player. Any subsequent waiver would irrevocable.

Correction to my above statement:

According to MLBTR: To be clear, these are irrevocable waivers — either of the outright or release variety. The previous system of August waiver trades — where a team could rescind a waiver placement if another club made a claim and the two sides didn’t work out a trade — was done away with in 2019.

Even if Trout consents to a trade, good luck moving that contract.

Isn't Trout dealing with some degenerative back condition that could seriously impact his ability to finish out his contract? It'd be absolutely sickening to be an Angels fan.

The Angels just put Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Matt Moore, Hunter Renfroe, and Randal Grichuk on waivers lol.

Good use of resources.

Cleveland just released Moore, and he was claimed by the Marlins.
