A $10/1 yr deal sounds like Elias. I wonder why he didn't make this move.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

Unless Jansen isn't an upgrade over any BP arm on the roster, why not add both?

Primary reason is because Jansen porbably wouldn't sign here.  I think he's chasing saves, not dollars or championships, and even though there may be a few more save opps for the non-closer here as Felix avoids back-to-backs in the early going, there aren't enough to make Jansen happy.

If he would sign here in a mid-relief role, then the secondary reason is the one you cite, I'm not sure he's much of an upgrade over anybody.  I suppose I'd trust Jansen over Dominguez, Soto, and Perez, but its not a wild difference and they've already committed to those other guys.  Could probably find someone to take them as salary dumps and instead sign Jansen, so fair to ask the question, but I don't think its a huge difference and you need some lefties so you're probably only talking about a comparison between Jansen and Dominguez.

Man, he's only 32 yrs old. His body just hasn't been able to stand up to the rigors of the game.

Under 1400 PA in the past 5 seasons.  Devastating.

Similar to Griffey, Jr in that probably the best player I had ever seen and due to injuries will remain on the outskirts of the best player ever conversation.  Trout's been even more injured than Junior was through this Age.  Hopefully he can find a way to stay healthy, game is better when he's available.

I really don't understand this for the Angels.  Brady doesn't want to be the hitting coach, he wants to be the Team President and they're giving him and his sweat pants a key to all of the rooms.

...and I like Brady, but I'm not sure he has any control.

Interesting that Mabry went too.  Seemed to be a good add here.  His heading out seems to support the notion that his presence here was about Schumaker.

I guess the team president offers weren’t coming in quite as fast as Brady hoped.

Sign Alek Manoah to a major league deal. With him and Grayson they've got quite the What If rotation budding.

Nothing like spring training optimism in December.

I have a lot more optimism about Grayson than Manoah, btw. At least Grayson's been good lately albeit unavailable. Manoah has been unhealthy and bad.

Sprinkled with a little bravado, to introduce yourself to the new team and its fans.

I don’t recall hearing a thing from Grayson like this in several years in the majors, and now he’s seemingly constantly in the media. I’m not saying it’s meaningful, but it’s interesting.
