Anybody go to the show last night? I wasn't able to get tickets.

Gonna need to be more determined to get to see him next time he's in the area. Heard they played for over 3 hours straight. Curious to hear what they played besides both of The River albums.

Setlist.fm

Didn't go. The River is his worst pre-90s album. Not too interested in seeing him play the entire thing. Now, a few years from now if they do a similar tour celebrating Born in the USA I am all in.

Yeah I would've been much more gung ho about getting tickets if it was a regular show and not all of The River.

God dammit he played Rosalita.  Would've been worth $200 just for that.

Because the Night would've been cool to see, too.

Probably seeing if he could sign Max Weinberg and slot him into the rotation.

He's supposedly playing Nats Park on September 1 - should be officially announced soon.  Tickets should be much easier this time, since the capacity is probably 4x First Mariner's.

True... but it's a dang stadium concert...

4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)

Sandy, the fireworks are hailin' over Little Eden tonight
Forcin' a light into all those stony faces left stranded on this warm July
Down in town the circuit's full of switchblade lovers, so fast, so shiny, so sharp
As the wizards play down on Pinball Way on the boardwalk way past dark
And the boys from the casino dance with their shirts open like Latin lovers on the shore
Chasin' all them silly New York virgins by the score

Sandy, the aurora is risin' behind us
Those pier lights, our carnival life forever
Oh, love me tonight, for I may never see you again
Hey, Sandy girl... my baby

Now the greasers, they tramp the streets or get busted for sleepin' on the beach all night
Them boys in their high heels, ah Sandy, their skins are so white
And me, I just got tired of hangin' in them dusty arcades, bangin' them pleasure machines
Chasin' the factory girls underneath the boardwalk, where they all promised to unsnap their jeans
And you know that Tilt-a-Whirl down on the south beach drag? I got on it last night and my shirt got caught
And it kept me spinnin', they didn't think I'd ever get off

Sandy, the aurora is risin' behind us
Those pier lights, our carnival life on the water
Runnin', laughin' underneath the boardwalk with the boss's daughter
I remember, Sandy girl... my baby

Sandy, the waitress I was seein' lost her desire for me
I spoke with her last night, she said she won't set herself on fire for me anymore
She worked that joint under the boardwalk, she was always the girl you saw boppin' down the beach with the radio
Kids say last night she was dressed like a star in one of the cheap little seaside bars, and I saw her parked with her lover boy out on the Kokomo
Did you hear, the cops finally busted Madame Marie for tellin' fortunes better than they do?
For me this carnival life's through-- you ought to quit this scene too

Sandy, the aurora is risin' behind us
Those pier lights, our carnival life forever
Oh, love me tonight and I promise I'll love you forever
Oh, I mean it, Sandy girl, my my baby
Yeah, I promise Sandy girl, sha-la baby

As a drummer myself, loved hearing Weinberg's perspective here.

He just announced a series of solo concerts in October and November at a sub-1,000 seat theater on Broadway.  Probably be a tough ticket, but it's an almost-unheard-of opportunity to see him in a small venue.

I've only recently started to appreciate Bruce and I would love to go see him there -- but I do want to retire at some point in this lifetime.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Glad this thread has some juice again.

Hoping that he does a Born in the USA anniversary tour in two years for the 35 anniversary.

Yeah, $850 for the best seats is pretty pricey.  But assuming you can get them, tickets start at $75, which means the 900th best seat is only $75 - that's a bargain compared to the 900th best seat in an arena or a stadium.

Bruce released a download of a December 1978 concert in Houston, with all proceeds going to hurricane relief.  The 1978 tour is generally considered to be peak Bruce, so it's worth checking out for $10, while helping out a good cause.
