Anyone go to the Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival today?
If I was the only one from here than went, that would be pretty sad

No but I did have a few Coronas.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Any of you guys had that New Belgium's Tour De Fall yet? I'm trying to hold out for a sale, but that's next on my list. Looking forward to fall beer season, it's a great time to drink.

Even the Yuengling and Angry Orchard in my fridge is sobbing right now.

Ok, this question may sound like I am an alcoholic, but here goes....
How can you guys get "drunk" on these type of beers? Most of them are just way too heavy and potent to be consumed in a large enough quantity to get sufficiently bombed.
Do you beer snobs have a go-to "get drunk" beer? For instance, if you're tailgating at a Ravens' game and you have 90 minutes to get shit-faced, what do you do? I can't imagine pounding 7-8 microbrews is all that fun.

I very rarely have getting drunk as a goal. I will get drunk at that festival tomorrow, though.
Anyway, considering the alcohol % is generally higher on the beers I drink and sometimes substantially so, getting drunk while not drinking a ton is realistic.

For beers that have a 7% ABV I feel buzzed after drinking about 3. Drink 'em fast and it happens faster and more intense.
I usually just do some shots while drinking the Boh or some kind of lite beer.
I do agree though, they aren't beers to be chugged. Ironically, higher ABV beers are better drunk slowly.

If I were to try to get hammered quickly, I'd just do shots. Drinking a ton of a 4.2% beer doesn't seem like a great plan to get drunk to me.

Gameplan depends on the situation, but I often like to have 3-4 nice beers or cocktails (or on rare occasions wine) and then switch to the cheap stuff to keep the party going.

Isn't this counter-intuitive? Hey, how do you get drunk drinking much stronger things faster? I drink weaker shit because it gets me drunk faster?
A fresh IPA is the easiest thing in the world to drink, for me.

40oz of old e brew

There are some strong fruity notes on Valar Morghulis. I think it's especially a plum note, but I'm not the best at that. For an 8% ABV brew, it goes down incredibly light. It's really good.
