Davis is in quite the slump. Going back to, and including Sunday's marathon in Boston, Davis is 1 for his last 18 with 10 k's and 2 GIDP's.
Different lineup without Reimold, and Davis slumping. Lucky that Hardy has gotten hot. Can be balanced out further if Reynolds starts hitting.

That first "ball" to Upton was a strike on pitch fx. Ump - just because a batter backs up at the pitch because it fooled him, or scared him, doesn't make it a ball. That is a pet peeve of mine.

3 walks for Eveland now, right?
Yep, 3. Though the last one to Upton might as well have been intentional.
Scott flies out to Betemit deep in LF.

Talk about underachieving talent, Upton has not delivered on his promise. I know he has had back issues though. He walks as Eveland pitches around him. Scott up with 2 on, 2 out.
TB drafts and develops so well that they are generally protected by the safety in numbers plan. They've had a few misses on people who were supposed to be cornerstone players but for whatever reason it didn't pan out. Rocco Baldelli comes to mind. He would have been terrific if he could have had a healthy career.

Imagine Tampa the last few years with Hamilton.

No one really knows for sure, but I bet they'd have some hardware.
Speaking of, if the O's aren't able to compete down the stretch, I'm pulling for TB to win their first World Series. I admire both them and Texas for how they've built their teams, but Texas is starting to spend money and flex their muscles more, and in my opinion they will approach mid-to-high $100k in their pay roll in the next couple of years, so I'm more inclined to root against them.
