It is hard to pin down what is up with Nick. I don't buy the argument that he got married and does not care. With his line drive %, you'd expect more doubles. Frustrating overall though.
Agreed.
But I think at this point it's time to disregard his salary, and look at him as just one of the guys, and move him around in the order till you find a more comfortable spot for him. This whole #3 hole/gotta be a $66MM guy just isn't working for anyone.

I've wanted him up in the order because I believe in his talent, not because I think his salary justifies keeping him up there. But totally agree it is time to move him out of the 3 spot.
Joyce loads the bases with a liner to CF.

Exactly. I don't "not" want him at the top, I just don't want him in the 3 because that's what he's "paid" to do. I mean it's just not working. Can I pint point a reason why? No, Is it logical? Not really. But whatever the rhyme or reason, there is plenty of evidence that suggests that Nick can't produce in the #3 hole.
Great job for Eveland to limit the damage to 1 run there. Fantastic recovery.

Yep, yep. I know a lot of people are down on Nick for not living up to his contract. That part does not bother me. I'm bothered by him not living up to his talent. I just think more is there. Also think he cares, or he would not bother to be in the lineup every-night. Just want to see him get hot over a couple of weeks and forget these struggles.

What a rope by Jones. Unreal. He's on pace for like 50 home runs.
And about 75 rbi lol.
He has not missed many fastballs (or mistake pitches in general) this year.

The other great thing about that Jonesy shot was that it came on the 9th pitch of the AB (After Hellickson had a 10 pitch 1st inning and was given the 1-0 lead). He also lined a double down the RF line that went just foul. Great AB all the way around by Jonesy.
Great points.
