That’s an injury that can linger.
Hopefully it isn’t too bad.
Yeah could be awhile on that one.

MASN: Schoop on his injury and return
http://www.masnsport...-expressed.html
Jonathan Schoop expressed some hope today about his ability to come off the disabled list after the minimum 10 days. Oblique strains traditionally require a longer recovery period, but no one is stamping out his optimism given the disappointment he felt upon suffering the injury.
“I hope 10 days,” he said. “I hope in the next couple of days I’ll feel better so I can start swinging and start to work on it to get better and get stronger.”

I hope like heck he doesn't try to come back too early. Do that with this injury and it can really put you out for an extended period of time.

He played in Frederick last night, and is supposed to be coming back today.

.199 BA, 591 OPS.
Good thing we didn't extend him I guess.

I'm still in favor of an extension. If you could get it done now, great.
I figure he is going to want to produce before discussing though...
Of course with his value down, you can't trade him now either.
So you likely go into 19 hoping he produces, and trading him midyear if there hasn't been an extension prior.

So glad we didn’t trade him when his value was at its peak.
They are just so dumb, it’s scary.

Schoop getting today off. I would give him tomorrow too, and maybe he relaxes.

I'd do a Davis with him and give him a week off. What's to lose?

Jonathan Schoop for Joe Blanton talk....
And a fun picture of Manny and Jonathan as tiny people.
BTW - he's been swinging the bat much better since I dumped him from my fantasy team.

John Angelos and Dan Duquette need to sit down with Schoop and his agent, today, to gauge his long term interest in being a Baltimore Oriole. If he's interested in toughing it out and being a centerpiece of the rebuild, hand him a new contract tomorrow. If not, and he has his heart set on playing for a winner sooner, rather than later, or testing the market after next year, start soliciting trade offers tonight.
