This is really good news. I hope it is just the beginning of good things in the international market.

I am not trying to be funny, but I was not sure I was ever going to see the Orioles really make an effort in the international market. This is a really good day, even if the results are not great. It is a fresh area for the Orioles to procure talent. Well done!!

Basallo is one big 16 year old. Good day for him, he just went from a teenager to a rich teenager.

He looks to have a quick swing, but a little long which is normal for a kid so young.

Ben Badler released a very early look at the Top 20 for the next international class- https://www.baseball...ects-big-board/
Orioles current favorites to sign Dominican outfielder Braylin Tavera, ranked 17th.
Born: Feb. 19, 2005. B-T: R-R. Ht.: 6-2. Wt.: 175.
With the Orioles joining the rest of Major League Baseball in competing for top players from Latin America, their top expected signing in the upcoming class is expected to be Tavera, likely for a bonus in the $1.5 to $2 million range. Tavera is a center fielder who ran the 60-yard dash in 6.47 seconds at a Dominican Prospect League showcase in October 2019, and while he might slow down some as he fills out, he should be able to stay in center. He has a mix of average-ish tools across the rest of his skill set. He trains at the Zorrilla Baseball Academy.

Impressive. This should send the right message in that market.

Long time no see.
Baseball America released their AL East 2020-2021 International Signing Reviews today. They included 12 scouting reports and Ben Badler called it a "huge year" for the Os.
