That account leaves me kinda hazy re: when they started showing him video... I got the impression that it was after he had already lousied himself into the BP.... I'd think with a guy like him you'd be looking at video all the time... comparing the delivery of great pitches to the delivery of bad pitches, trying to nip it in the bud... but that story kinda made it sound like things went to hell and stayed there for a while before they looked into that... is that possible?  Or am I reading it wrong?

That was a pretty good offense he beat today. 7 IP. 4H, 3BB. 4 K'so, 2 ER and 12 GB outs. 5 straight QS's. ERA below 6 at 5.98.

Aspects of the SP situation have reached the point where I'm looking at it like a craps table.  Each one of the available SP's is like a pair of dice.  Give 'em a start, what numbers are they gonna roll?  That's pretty much where we are.

Given that that's where we are, Ubaldo is the one pair of dice that just might have a good streak in him.  We're not playing the stupid bets in the middle of the table, we're just making ordinary passline bets.   And passline bets can be very, very streaky.   Do I think any of the available choices is more likely than Ubaldo to have a good passline streak?  Nope.

My passline bet is Ubaldo... until he blows up again, anyway...

8/25   6.0 IP,   90p   5 H, 1 ER     0 BB, 4K

8/30   6.2 IP, 101p   5 H, 3 ER     2 BB, 3K

9/05   9.0 IP, 114p   2 H, 3 ER     1 BB, 6K

9/11   7.0 IP, 106p   4 H, 2 ER     3 BB, 4K

Last 4 GS:  21.5 Outs/GS    ERA 2.83     WHIP 0.767

I'm leaving my chips on the Ubaldo passline...

Can it really be as simple as him dropping his throwing hand now vs. not doing it before?

If so, how come it took until late-August to fix?   I wish we had reporters who would ask...

Does this mean his healthcare was free and he wasn't paying taxes before?

He is still part of the mlbpa which probably takes care of the majority of healthcare costs and any person who is in the USA for more than 183 days with a work visa must file taxes. So in short, no and no. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, I'm assuming he had a work visa or was a permanent resident alien.
