I don't think he is a product of Manning but I also don't think he is a #1 WR either. He is solid and can help us but likely not realistic for the money I would assume he would get.

If we're going to wade into the free agent waters for a WR, we should see if Q is interested in a reunion. Outside of that, I'd pass. I'd rather see us improve the offensive line (through some personnel changes and better protection schemes) and get the running game back to where it was then worry about overpaying for a WR.
If we can protect again and run the ball again, the passing game will get better regardless of the personnel at WR.
Also, a new set of eyes at the OC position could help as well.

Lets say my estimation of Decker's value on the FA market is way off. I think the 5 years is about right, but maybe $65M is off the charts high. If the market determines he's worth 5 years, $45M/$15M guaranteed, It might look like this:
2014 - $2M base, $3M bonus, $5M cap
2015 - $4M / $3M / $7M
2016 - $6M / $3M / $9M
2017 - $9M / $3M / $12M
2018 - $9M / $3M / $12M
If Decker is the real deal, those $5M and $7M cap numbers are a steal. If you feel Decker was over paid, or hasn't lived up to the number one biliing, then you cut him before the 2017 season to save $3M, or before the 2018 season and save $6M.
Or do you think he will get over $60M on the market?

Mike Wallace got 5/60 and the way these things go I expect that to be topped.

That was my mindset too.
Garcon is very good and got 5/$42.5M. Figure the elite get the triple digit deals. Wallace was overpaid, maybe Bowe is over paid at $56M, Everyone else considered very good would be in the $40M-$50M range. Wishful thinking I suppose.

@Jamison Hensley: The Ravens will get the league-maximum four compensatory picks, including one for Ed Reed. Even though he was released, the secret equation that the NFL uses to determine these picks is based on the size of the contract as well as playing time for the new team.
What should the Ravens receive for those four players? I see the best-case scenario as this: one in the third round (Kruger), two in the fourth round (Ellerbe and Williams) and one in the fifth (Reed).
A 3, 4, 5, and a 6/7 (for Reed) would seem fair.

More details on the Comp picks, especially regarding the potential pick for Reed, plus RSR has learned that the conditional pick from the McKinnie trade is a 2015 pick:
Russell Street Report: Although it doesn't add up, Ravens expect 4 comp picks
http://russellstreet...t-4-comp-picks/
So, with a Comp pick for Reed, Ravens will enter draft with 8 picks.

Why a 2015 pick for McKinnie? Perhaps we receive a better selection for waiting?

Since he's under contract for 2014 too, I'm guessing either (1) the Dolphins didn't want to give up too much until he actually played for them for both years or (2) the Ravens were willing to wait for more if he played both years.
Or, really, both.

I think the Ravens will be interested in Winston. Makes a lot of sense for them at RT.

Yeah, Winston makes a lot of sense, given his history with Kubiak's system. Should be cheap, as well. Last year he played for $1.25M plus incentives.

I hope they do get something worked out with Winston. He could help ease the transition to Kubiak's scheme, and given his history with it he could really bounce back after a rough season in Arizona. I pin that more on Arians' stupid offense than him though.

Did someone just use Arians and stupid system in the same sentence.
I wouldn't call the whole system stupid, but this is:
Mendenhall 217 carries for 687 yards. Ellington 118 for 652.

Ellington should have got more touches but I don't believe he's a workhorse RB.I wouldn't call the whole system stupid, but this is:

Dude just made Carson Palmer look like a solid QB again. Let that sink in.
Did he? And I thought you liked Palmer?
