I must officially be the only person bored to death during Dune. Appreciate the giant set pieces. But otherwise, meh.

“Are you the chosen one” has been done a billion times.

It’s always tough when the book that inspired great movies gets adapted well after those movies.

It sure has. But I appreciated the execution of it more than anything.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Oscar Noms are out and Denis Villeneuve doesn't get a nod for best director, what a rip off!

Nightmare Alley was pretty good. Kind of surprised it was nominated for Best Picture. I guess the pedigree.

20 mins too long though.

Going to watch that next. So I’ve seen 3 of the best picture noms. 2 bad (Dune, Power of the dog) 1 a good satire but not a best pic (Dont look up).

The Last Duel is incredibly uncomfortable to watch, but interestingly made.

Yeah, once was uncomfortable. To see the incident three separate times was worse.

I am trying to figure out who thought giving that movie a budget of $100 million was an intelligent thing to do.  Even pre-COVID, that kind of movie was never making that much money.

Licorice Pizza SUCKED

It’s not good.

Bradley Cooper is in the movie 5 minutes and it came to life for a moment, but that’s it.

Sadly Matt Damon's character also not a nice guy

Juice turns 30 today.

https://www.sis2sis....first-role/amp/

Launched Tupac’s career; he got the role after walking in with a friend who was up for the role and auditioning for 15 mins.

Ernest Dickerson, who directed a lot of The Wire and Walking Dead episodes, directed the film. He had been DP for Spike Lee.

I love this movie. It was a lot like Stand by Me in that it was about a group of kids figuring things out and a movie that never seemed to age or become out of date as I got older.

Watched it again last night after listening to The Rewatchables podcast on it.

Perfect film.

Tupac jumped out of the screen in this movie. What a talent...

Free Guy was decent.  I thought it made good use of its premise, and Jodie Comer is fun.

AMC is running an A-List Ticket program.

Like $21 a month, you can get into 3 movies a week per month, with discounts on snacks.

Not sure there 12 movies a month worth watching. :)

Yeah there seems to be one movie a month that warrants a theater viewing...if that.

I'm going to check out The Batman at some point, though.

There's a theater in Fredrick that does $7 Tuesday night movies, so if you see 3 movies a month, boom. That's $21.
