I hate that zone Wake is playing. Duke is doing a nice job of moving the ball quickly and finding the open man, but Wake is too slow to play a defense like that.

 

I haven't watched them much since Gaudio was fired, does anyone know if 2-3 is standard for Bzdelik?

He did a lot of a matchup zone at CU. He ran the Princeton offense there as well.

I guess they can still get the 1 seed but I think they have locked themselves into the 2 line tonight with this awful loss.

I am one of those Wake fans and I will always be happy beating Duke. You gotta have some bright point in the season.

Btw...Duke is on a team wide shooting slump the last few weeks.

I thought they would be ok tonight after the 8 days off...they had played 5 games in 11 days, so having tired legs and shooting poorly isn't really unheard of there.

But there isn't much excuse tonight...playing a zone team and missing as many 3s as they have is inexcusable.

If they don't shoot well in the tourney, they will lose early. They don't play good enough consistent defense to overcome poor shooting against good teams on neutral courts IMO. They could maybe get away with it in the second round but they won't likely get away with it in the sweet 16.

I am one of those Wake fans and I will always be happy beating Duke. You gotta have some bright point in the season.

It's a meaningless victory for them, but nonetheless congrats to them.

We're playing well so far, since we've moved to Lunardi's First Four, I think we need two wins to secure a spot. Before two hours ago, I thought we just needed to win one of the remaining (including Pac12 Tourney), which still might do it..
