I'd love for them to do a "blind" trade review, just put up stats/info. I think a lot of it is praising the recently "good teams" (or shall I say GMs) and criticizing prolifically "bad teams." (and their executives)Could be right. I listened to XM all afternoon since it's hot topic, and just about everyone said the same thing I did. Then you see these blog posts where people are outraged. I get that people love prospects, but to act like the deal is completely lopsided and doesn't make sense is just looking for cheap page views.

I believe their rule with the Jason Kendell Memorial 35-and-Over Roster Spot is that if they don't use it they have to play with 24.Miguel Tejada made the Royals opening day roster.

ESPN: George Brett resigns as hitting coach
http://espn.go.com/m...s-hitting-coach
One thing I've always found unique about coaching, is great players don't necessarily make even adequate coaches. It's really impossible to know based on two months whether George Brett, would or wouldn't have been. But his comments are refreshingly honest.
"I found out I was a better player, a better hitter, in my opinion, than a teacher," he admitted. "I was not a good mechanical hitting coach."
Brett said he has played several rounds of golf with Fred Couples over the years, yet the former Masters champion never gave him any tips. Not long ago, Brett asked him why.
"He told me, 'George, I know my swing, but I don't know yours,' " Brett said.
I think the hardest thing for any great player in the transition to coaching is to have patience with players, who aren't close to as talented to them. I think in many ways it's hard to relate to a player struggling.

I think I'm in on the Royals right now, they're pretty good. The next two weeks are huge for them, very easy schedule.
Luke Hochevar nasty out of the bullpen?? Who knew!

2 games under .500, will be interesting to see how they finish. Would like to see them finish .500 or above.
The rotation can keep them in most games (nothing great, but competitive enough...). The bullpen is strong.
Gordon, Moustakas, Hosmer, Perez, Butler is pretty good. Could use more production from Cain, Escobar, Getz... but they each bring something. Lough as well.
That's not a horrible team at all.. just need their good players (particularly Moustakas) to produce more like they should be capable of.

Totally agree, especially with that bullpen, wow. Just have the starters do a serviceable job, and let the bullpen do the rest.
Hosmer has been damn good of late as we know (FIRE BUCK!!!), but yeah, they need more production from the Moustakas/Cain/Perez/Butler crew...If they get that, maybe they can finally break through!

Other than Rivera, they're so interchangeable. The stat was that only 3 closers were closing for their respective teams three years ago. So while he might be it right now, odds are he won't be in a few years.

He's been dominant for three years now. I think he'll still be closing in three years, maybe just not with the Royals.

I think you mean two (http://kansascity.ro...013&level='ALL'). He was 16 for 20 in saves last year, that's not really that amazing. Drew Storen was 43 for 48 in 2011 and is now in the minors (http://washington.na...013&level='ALL'). Relievers even "proven closers" are extremely volatile.
