Are they going to cover up the Kings banners too?

Spoken like a true team that will forever be second fiddle in LA, despite this current aberration.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

ESPN: Doc Rivers: Our arena when we play

http://espn.go.com/l...ionship-banners

"The culture is changing, and we want to be a winner," Rivers said Monday. "To do that, we have to make changes, and the one at Staples Center is one that I thought we needed to make. We don't leave the Lakers floor down, do we? And they don't play on the Clippers floor; they take it up. That's all.

Just one loss, with another 81 games to play... but thought the first night of the Rivers era was interesting.

On TNT, Miller said that the the Clippers did not want to run with the Lakers. As I just wrote in the Lakers thread, the athleticism of the Lakers was obviously much improved.... but the Clippers don't want to run?

I don't think that is a good sign.  Paul can run any type of offense, there is... no issue there...   but slowing tempo and throwing the ball into the post.... asking  Griffin, and Jordan to make plays? That will be interesting to watch. Jordan was 8 for 10 last night, but generally I think he will provide better offense if he's just racing opposing bigs down the floor, and trying to beat them in transition.

Same thing for Griffin. The FT shooting was ugly last night, even worse than usual. Would help the Clippers if he shot 75% this year (66% last year).

Redick's plus/minus was -19 last night, but thought he played well last night. He has always moved well without the ball.

Collison should be a good backup PG.

It is clear that Rivers is focused on making the Clippers a better defensive team, though it didn't show last night vs. the Lakers.

Sterling tried to kill Reddick deal?

http://sports.yahoo....-012846814.html

Gotta wonder if the Peter Angelos of the NBA ends up killing the momentum this organization has?

The Clippers are currently $3m over the luxury tax threshold, so guarantee someone is going to be traded during the season do get under that. Jamal Crawford is the name that comes up the most. Of course there are plenty of owners in the league who would do the exact same thing in that situation, and if you have a smart front office you should be able to shed $3m without hurting your team. And given the benefits of being under the tax, both immediate and long-term, it's probably worth it. Problem is, this is Donald Sterling we're talking about, so there's no telling how this could unfold and it's certainly not unthinkable that it could derail what they've built.

My worries about the Clippers slowing down, never came to fruition. Leading the league in scoring. Middle of the pack in points allowed.

Need Redick's outside shooting back. Still no timetable for his return.

The Clippers are legit title contenders IMO.

The West playoffs are going to be insane!

The East, not so much.

SB Nation: Clippers players held late-night meeting to discuss racist comments from Sterling

Another example of why Sterling deserves all the 'accolades' he receives as the worst owner in sports.

Sadly, Sterling being a racist isn't exactly news.

He doesn't deserve the team he has right now. There are only 30 teams so you take what you can get, but as a player you'd think it would be an absolute last resort to play for that guy.

I'm very curious to see how he responds. He can't deny it, and I'm certain he won't go all "Cliven Bundy" and double down on his comments either.

MLB suspended Marge Schott for some Hitler comments once, I'm sure a suspension is ahead for "Mr". Sterling.

@MagicJohnson .@cjbycookie and I will never go to a Clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the owner.

They have got to be livid to have to deal with this while playoff games are on TV.

Sterling is a moron.

Yeah that's the thing if this were a weekday, they could atleast have it during the day. Since it's the playoffs and there's games all the time and this matter can't be put on the backburner, there's no good options.

Btw, here's Doc Rivers son (the former Hoya), Jeremiah, reaction (Washington Post).
