To me JJ just looks like he is muscling up on the ball, trying for more velocity which is flattening it out. I mean the pitch that Haffner hit and the one this past Saturday were both 97 mph, which is more on average that he normally operates at.

First time we've seen Adam at DH this year, right?
Interesting that it's Dickerson in CF and McLouth staying in LF. I would've guessed it'd be Nate in center.

I think if Showalter and Adair are really thinking this through and not just looking to be stubborn, they will use the excuse the Johnson has thrown 56 pitches over two stressful appearances in three days and let him rest. That gives them their way out, lets them see someone else in that slot if necessary, and allows him to pitch tomorrow if the situation demands it.

I wonder if that's due to them wanting McLouth to stay where he's comfortable, or if they really understand that his Gold Glove in center is one of the worse picks of the last fifteen years.

I would bet its about "comfort."

I swear, when it rains it pours. What a way to pick up where we left off last night.

Hafner sucks... hit him in his butt, and see if it falls apart.

Still, good poise by Gonzo to get out of it with only giving up the run after the "double" by Gardner.

Two quick fly ball outs by Macho and Kakes, and it's 2 outs with McLouth still on 1st. Jonesy coming up. Let's see if he can Designated Hit tonight. That'd be cool.

Three fly ball outs, one of which was nicely hit (Machado's). Even Nate's was a weak pop-up. That makes me feel somewhat good that once they square him up better, the balls will fly out.
